High Speeds and High Drama: This 1.5 mile quad-oval near Fort Worth Texas has hosted NASCAR racing since 1997 when its first NEXTEL Cup race started with a huge wreck in turn 1. Since then the track has seen many good races mixed in with extremely high speeds.

The qualifying record stands at over 194 MPH making it one of the fastest speedways on the schedule yet the tricky track also averages almost 9 cautions per race. The frequent cautions keep the field racing close together which, in turn, makes for exciting finishes.

Track owner Bruton Smith loves racing and, more importantly, race fans. Texas Motor Speedway is a first-class facility all the way and when there is a problem (traffic, the track itself, parking) Bruton gets it fixed. He doesn't tolerate the same problem two years in a row and the winners are always the fans.
