Waiting For The Big One:
Talladega is one of two tracks on the NASCAR circuit that forces teams to run a restrictor plate to limit
the engine horsepower. This in turn limits the top speed of the cars. A side effect of the plates is that it increases the
importance of aerodynamics such that two cars running together are MUCH faster than one car by itself. This means that the
cars run all day long in a large pack just inches apart.
It's a full 500 miles of white-knuckle racing for the drivers as a small mistake can cause the massive wreck at 190mph known as "The Big One."
Some fans love Talladega, some don't. If you're going to the track most any seat in the tower is good, higher is better. Some of the lower non-tower seats have trouble seeing the entire track.
