Storylines
Kyle Busch started tonight's race from the ninteenth starting spot after winning the Truck race and the Nationwide race at Bristol on Wednesday and Friday nights. If Kyle could pull of the Bristol Sprint Cup series win he would become the first driver in NASCAR history to pull off the triple.
Kyle stormed through the field and was running sixth 100 laps into the race. 100 laps later Kyle jumped from the bottom to the top on Jimmie Johnson during a restart and took over the lead.
Kyle would go on to lead the most laps and make NASCAR history as the first driver to ever win the Truck, Nationwide and Cup series races in the same weekend.
Chasing The Checkers
Kyle Busch lead the most laps before a caution with 90 laps to go cost him a spot on pit road to David Reutimann. With 72 laps to go Reutimann wiggled and Kyle got past him on the bottom for the lead.
Kyle then cruised home for the comfortable win and completed the first triple-sweep in NASCAR history on Bristol's 100th NASCAR Sprint Cup series race.
