David Reutimann had the NASCAR Sprint Cup field covered when it mattered most today in the 2010 LifeLock.com 400 at Chicagoland Speedway.

Reutimann earned the win by having the best car but Chicagoland Speedway put on a miserable race. If you needed a nap then tonight's race was for you. There were a lot of empty seats which reflect the fact that Chicagoland Speedway has a history of boring races.

Let's bulldoze Chicagoland and move this event to an actual race track.

Qualifying

Jamie McMurray lead three Chevrolet drivers at the top of qualifying with Jimmie Johnson and Tony Stewart starting second and third. Greg Biffle qualified fourth in his Roush-Fenway Ford and Sam Hornish Jr. rounded out the top five in his Dodge.

Drop Of The Green

Jamie McMurray chose the outside lane for the start but Jimmie Johnson pulled ahead in turn three of the first lap and lead lap one.

There wasn't much to see in the early going. This race started with a long green flag run with Johnson leading ahead of Tony Stewart and Greg Biffle.

Storylines

Chicagoland Speedway has officially made the list of tracks that I'd like to see bulldozed. This race track typically features blowout victories and very little actual racing.

Chicagoland Speedway joins California as "cookie cutter" race tracks that painfully missed the mark and desperately need to be rebuilt.

Let's leave these modern snooze fests to the IndyCar series and put NASCAR races on race tracks that can put on a good show. North Wilkesboro and North Carolina Motor Speedway (Rockingham) had character and featured interesting racing.

Chasing The Checkers

With about sixty laps to go David Reutimann caught Jeff Gordon for the lead and they battled for a few laps before Gordon held him off and maintained the lead. A few laps later Reutimann tried again and made the pass stick.

A round of pit stops didn't change the running order and David Reutimann coasted to the easy win.
