The Roush-Fenway Fords dominated the early part of the race but Kyle Busch flexed his muscle once again and ran away with the end of the race to claim his fourth win of 2008.
Qualifying
Greg Biffle topped qualifying for Roush-Fenway Racing. Kurt Busch started along side in second place in his Penske Dodge.
The second row was made up of current point leader Kyle Busch and defending Sprint Cup Champion Jimmie Johnson. Jamie McMurray rounded out the top five in another Roush-Fenway Ford.
Drop Of The Green
When the green flag flew Greg Biffle jumped out to the early lead. He maintained the early lead over Jimmie Johnson.
The big news in the early going was the big pileup on lap 18. This big mess completely blocked the backstretch. The red flag came out while the track crews worked to clean up the debris.
When they finally went green again Greg Biffle continued to lead the early going.
Storylines
That lap 18 incident claimed a number of top teams including Tony Stewart, Kevin Harvick, Denny Hamlin, Kasey Kahne and Dale Earnhardt Jr. In all there were eleven drivers involved in this incident just 18 laps into the long Dover day.
With 1/4 of the field damaged within the first 18 miles the rest of the race was pretty clean and featured long green flag runs.
Chasing The Checkers
As the race entered the final 100 laps Kyle Busch was out front. Three Roush-Fenway Fords were giving chase. Carl Edwards, Greg Biffle and Matt Kenseth were still in the hunt running second through fourth.
After a round of green flag pit stops Kyle Busch lit up the field. With 40 laps to go Busch was out front by more than 7 seconds.
The final 154 laps were all clean-and-green. Kyle Busch dominated those laps all the way to Victory Lane.
