Part 3: Visual Quality And Overall Impression
Image Quality (How good is good?)
3dfx claims that purchasing this card will "instantly upgrade your entire
software library." Now that's a tough bit of propaganda to believe but I was truly shocked at
the difference that this card makes.
To put it simply, the 3dfx Voodoo5 5500 with full 4xFSAA enabled is the best visual quality
available, period. Other video cards claim some anti-aliasing support but nobody else does it as
well or supports as many games as this card. The quality is truly incredible.
You've got to see it for yourself to truly appreciate it,
static screen shots just do not do this card justice.
Overall
This card is smoking fast when you want raw framerate and with Full Screen Anti-Aliasing enabled
it produces the best on screen images available anywhere. This combination of pure performance
and eye-popping image quality means that there is something here for every gamer.
It's rare that a video card manufacturer (or anybody else for that matter) actually produces a
product that lives up to it's marketing hype but the Voodoo5 5500 AGP is honestly everything
that it claims to be.
