Top Row Seat - Bristol Preview
Dateline: 08/26/99This weekend the BGN and Winston Cup warriors invade "The Worlds Fastest Half Mile" of Bristol Motor Speedway. One of the toughest tickets in all of NASCAR, the Saturday night shootout always proves exciting.
| Race: | Goodys 500 |
| Place: | Bristol Motor Speedway |
| Distance: | 500 Laps - 266.5 Miles |
| Time: | August 28, 7:30pm Eastern |
| TV: | ESPN |
In the spring Rusty Wallace regained his crown as the master of the short tracks. A year ago under the lights it was Mark Martin who was able to finish up some personal business and get the victory for his father.
This weekend you shouldn't expect any surprises as Bristol has a history of being dominated by the current points leaders. With just twelve races left on the 1999 Winston Cup schedule you can expect the cream to rise to the top.
Prediction Time
Gordon has been very strong here (like everywhere) and Rusty Wallace won here in the spring. My money though has to be on Dale Jarrett to repeat his win from 1997 and extend his points lead while the rest of the top three will be made up of more drivers from the top five in points.
Who do you think will win the race this weekend? Tell the world on the bulletin board. Or you can talk about all things NASCAR in the chat room Wednesday night from 8-9pm EST.
