Top Row Seat - NASCAR Racing 3 Preview
Dateline: 07/18/99

Race fans have been waiting anxiously for the latest addition to the NASCAR Racing simulation family. This fall Papyrus, a division of Sierra Sports, will deliver NASCAR Racing 3 the newest member of their highly acclaimed series of PC NASCAR simulation software.
According to a Papyrus representative, NASCAR Racing 3 will contain numerous new technology advances and feature enhancements in graphics, sound, artificial intelligence, and multi-player systems over previous NASCAR releases. However, the much-anticipated 3rd generation physics model which was the core of Grand Prix Legends has been found to be too processor intensive and will not be included until a future version of NASCAR Racing.
Key features of NASCAR Racing 3 include:
- High resolution 3D graphics supporting Direct3D and 3dfx Glide @ 800x600 & 1024x768 resolutions, and new effects including dynamic skids, translucent smoke and shadows, shaded groove, specular highlighting.
- Free Internet multi-player
- 3D positional sound with DirectSound3D and A3D 2.0, dynamic all-new engine sounds, and separate spotter and crew chief audio
- Force feedback support
- Enhanced, aggressive Artificial Intelligence races you harder and smarter
- Enhanced setup options
- Full paintkit to customize your own car
- The cars and tracks from the Busch Grand National series are also included in the box
