The Looks
The Hyper makes a statement when you walk into the room. The one I test drove was painted up in full Ferrari Red and was equipped with almost all of the available options including carbon fiber seat, rear wing and the fully programmable steering wheel buttons.Modeled after the tub of a "pointy-car" this sleek design was easily the most impressive looking controller that I tested.
Convenience
The Hyper Stimulator is probably not for everyone. Measuring approximately 68 inches long, 21 inches high and 34 inches wide you need a fair amount of space to race. But once you get it set up it's there and always ready for you. Just jump in and go!The Feel
Just climbing in will start to raise your pulse. Step in, shoot your feet down the body to the pedals and lean back into the seat. It doesn't take very much imagination to envision a crew busily rushing around you preparing for the race. The very first thing I noticed was that my seat was vibrating slightly with the rumbling of the engine. This feature is called the "seat shaker" and makes all the difference in the world. Clip a curb with the left wheels and you feel it vibrate under your left hip. Racing side-by-side with a car on your right will buzz your right ribs. It takes a few laps to stop thinking about it and start FEELING it but the additional sensory input truly adds to the racing experience without being "gimmicky."
As you would expect in a controller of this quality the pedals provide realistic tension and precise control and the wheel fits comfortably in your hands. Although I was initially concerned about the long 380 degree lock-to-lock motion of the wheel it was extremely comfortable to drive. (if you need to turn the wheel that far you have already wrecked)
