Definition:
Generic term for the races held at Daytona Internation Speedway and Talladega Superspeedway. Named
for the "restrictor plate" device that NASCAR uses to keep the speeds down at these tracks.
Pronunciation:
plat ra sing • (verb)
Examples:
Dale Earnhardt is the undisputed King of plate racing. He has more wins at Talledega and Daytona than anyone.
