Guide Review - Boostaroo
This little gizmo plugs into your NASCAR scanner and has three output jacks that allow up to three people to listen to one scanner with absolutely no loss of quality.
The Boostaroo will also extend your battery life because you can turn down the volume on your scanner and still enjoy the same sound level in your headset.
The Boostaroo is not for all scanners. The plug and jacks on this unit fit the newer "Stereo mini" headphone jacks (this is the standard size that cd players and other audio products use today). Many of the older NASCAR scanners had a non-standard size headphone jack that will not work with this product.
If you aren't sure which size you have, go find a Walkman and see if the headphone will plug into your scanner. If it fits then the Boostaroo will work fine for you.
NASCAR fans on a budget may want to seek out the older version. The audio quality wasn't quite as good and there was no on/off indicator but it was selling for $19.95 instead of the new version's $29.95.
Overall this ingenious product performs exactly as advertised. It boosts the volume of your NASCAR scanner, extends your battery life and also serves as a top quality three-way splitter.
