The Buzz - What people will be talking about this week
- The current 2003 NASCAR Winston Cup points leader, Matt Kenseth, started thirty-first last year here and came through with the victory.
- Is it important to qualify well? Kenseth's win would suggest not, but he is the first driver to win the race after starting outside of the top seven.
- Second race for Texas in 2004? The rumors are flying fast and furious about the possiblity that Texas will be given a second Winston Cup race. Will they get one from Rockingham? Darlington? Somewhere else?
- Fan Security - With the US at war is a Winston Cup race a terrorist target? NASCAR is taking "all precautions" or safety.
- Patriotism - Bruton Smith doesn't do things in a small way. Expect some of the biggest, most patriotic pre-race displays in the history of the sport.
- Rivalries - With all of the beating, banging and hot tempers in Bristol you can expect interviews with all of the guilty parties. Is revenge on their minds? Of course not, But someone will ask the question anyway.
- Points Points Points - The new "NASCAR Top 10" initiative means that you're hear plenty about Kenseth, Busch, Stewart, Waltrip, Earnhardt, Johnson, Craven, Bobby Labonte, Rudd and Jeff Gordon but few others.
