White Lightning NASCAR book

White Lightning

The Bottom Line

This fast paced read will leave you wondering what happens next. I really enjoyed this novel and can't wait to read the next book in the "Rolling Thunder" series "Road To Daytona."

Description

  • Set in the mid 1950s our hero goes from racing the back roads to a local dirt track.

  • More realistic racing action than most NASCAR fiction. Our hero doesn't always win.

Guide Review - "White Lightning" by Don Keith and Kent Wright

"White Lightning", a stock car racing novel from authors Kent Wright and Don Keith, is first in a new series of stock car fiction called "Rolling Thunder." This book gives the reader a realistic look inside the early days of stock car racing in America and the type of men who got involved in racing.

Set in the mid 1950s we follow Jodell Bob Lee, his cousin Joe and their friend Bubba as they make the transition from running moonshine to driving race cars. New NASCAR fans as well as seasoned NASCAR veterans will enjoy this book as it provides insight into the roots of NASCAR racing.

One feature I particularly liked about this book was that our hero does not automatically win. This is NOT "Days Of Thunder" in a paperback.
