After 35 years of being the Twin 125's NASCAR has changed them. The former Gatorade Twin 125's will now be called the "Gatorade Duel at Daytona" and will feature an extra ten laps of racing each. The new 150 mile races will feature virtually the exact same format but with a longer break between races for some live entertainment.

The qualifying process for the Daytona 500 isn't really changing all that much however. The finishing order for the first "duel" will still make up the odd numbered starting positions 3-29 for the Daytona 500. The finishing order of the second race will determine the even numbered starting positions 4-30. This hasn't changed from past years.
