Another Practice, Another Crash

By February 20, 2013

Follow me on:

Drivers continue to struggle with drafting and the new Gen6 car.   It seems like nearly every time a pack gets together at Daytona somebody ends up wrecked.  Daytona Preseason Thunder,  Sprint Unlimited Practice, the Sprint Unlimited and now the first day of drafting practice all saw multi-car incidents.

On Wednesday Ryan Newman and Carl Edwards got together when Newman's car just came around on him for no apparent reason.  It seems like the aerodynamics on this new car are different from what they're used to and leading to some very unstable cars.

This means that Thursday's Budweiser Duel and Sunday's Daytona 500 are sure to see more carnage.  When the aggression levels rise bad things are bound to happen.

Let's all hope for a safe weekend.

I’ve been a Nascar fan since the late 60′s I bought my 1st new car because of #21 David Pearson, and I bought a Mercury Montego. They were extremilly fast back then. Nascar has made the worst mistake that a person or co. can make, That is IF IF”S NOT BROKE DON’T FIX IT!! Well they have been changing Nascar so very much in the past 20yrs and now to me and to others Nascar fans in the 50plus age Nascar JUST SUCKS!!!! This is the most boring race I have ever seen! I still can’t tell the cars apart! They still can’t pass on tracks with R.Plates which should be illegal! You get penalized for speeding on pit rd. You can’t race back to the caution! And what the Hell is all of this Lucky Dog Crap And cars taken the pass around??huh!! And they wonder why the stands are half empty at the races now. They are just in it for the money now and the HELL WITH THE SPORT OF RACING!!!
