NASCAR Sprint Cup rookie Danica Patrick posted the fastest time in today's qualifying for the 2013 Daytona 500. Given the complicated qualifying process that Daytona uses she and second place qualifier Jeff Gordon are locked into the front two starting spots but the rest of the starting lineup won't be decided until Thursday's twin 150-mile qualifying races.
Danica will be the first woman in NASCAR history to sit on a NASCAR Sprint Cup series pole. Her rookie season is off to quite an impressive start.

Good for her for sticking it out. Now she can settle in and progress to be a real Deal.
