Hoping for Rain in Daytona

Follow me on:

I know this is heresy among race fans but I'm sort of hoping we get a rain delay soon.  NASCAR recently unveiled a new track drying system that claims to be able to dry Daytona in 30 minutes instead of 2.5 hours and Martinsville in 15 minutes.

What's more, this new process is much more environmentally friendly than running multiple jet engines for hours on end.

This is a big win for race fans, race teams, the media, the environment and everyone else associated with the sport.  Shorter rain delays means a better chance of getting the race in.  I can't wait to see this new gadget in action.
