Ricky Stenhouse Jr. Moves Up to Cup

From Steve McCormick, About.com GuideJanuary 3, 2013

Follow me on:

This year Ricky Stenhouse Jr. makes the leap from the NASCAR Nationwide Series up to the big league.   Stenhouse will take over the #17 Best Buy Ford Roush Fenway Racing team that Matt Kenseth used to win last year's Daytona 500.

This is quite a bit of pressure but Stenhouse is clearly up for the challenge.   Stenhouse is fresh off a pair of back-to-back Nationwide Series championships and has an incredible track record of winning in just about everything he ever drove.

Do I think he'll win the 2013 Sprint Cup crown?  No.   But I do think that he's got a legitimate shot at winning a race and could well contend for a spot in the 2013 Chase.
