Jamie McMurray Uses Pit Strategy For 2010 Brickyard 400 Win

By , About.com Guide   July 25, 2010

Follow me on:

The 2010 Brickyard 400 was decided by a late race caution as some drivers gambled on two tires while the leaders took four.  Clean air proved to be the right choice and Jamie McMurray used the clean air to drive away for the win.

This win completed an amazing feat for his car owner.  Chip Ganassi added the 2010 Brickyard 400 to the 2010 Daytona 500 and the 2010 Indianapolis 500 to become the first car owner in history to sweep the three biggest American oval races in the same year.

Unfortunately there aren't many fans who will be able to say they were there to witness it. The stands were painfully empty.  It seemed like there was more shiny aluminum visible than race fans.  Indianapolis is just not a great place for race fans and fans are staying home by the thousands.

Bet Roush could kick himself in the butt now. Too bad he didn’t give Jamie the car he needed to win races there. Jamie is the same as others drivers, give them the best cars and crews and they will win races and Jamie has proved that. James has always been a good race car driver and he has proved that also. I guess Crown Royal must be kicking themselves in the butt now too. Now they are sponsoring a driver that can’t win, ooppss.

It all comes down to one word. BORING
Nascar has too much control. Let the drivers race and settle their differences like the old days. Too bad Dale sr. isn’t around. Nascar keeps changing the rules and now the drivers are fined for speaking out. It’s only a matter of time. Many of my friends no longer watch unless there is nothing else on.
