Edwards Versus Keselowski Lives On

By , About.com GuideJuly 22, 2010

Follow me on:

Last Saturday night saw the rekindling of the Carl Edwards / Brad Keselowski on-track feud in the closing laps of the Nationwide Series race at Gateway International. Edwards spun Keselowski out of the lead on the last lap and took the win.

NASCAR let the win stand but on Wednesday they docked Edwards 60 points and fined him $25,000 for a move they said was more than "just racing."   For his part in the battle Keselowski was put on probation through the end of the season along with Edwards.

NASCAR is really walking a fine line here.  At the beginning of the season they said they wanted the drivers to battle harder and they would let them race.   What do you think? Should NASCAR let them race, continue with the fines, do more to stop it?

So much for, “Have at it boys!”

It’s one thing for the ‘Cup guys to do it and I think they should have at it, IN the ‘Cup series………they have a LOT deeper pockets than most of the N’wide teams {unless it’s JGR, KHR, etc….}.
But, I agree with the call in the N’wide series.
Do I think the probation should carry over to the ‘Cup side? No.
What happens in N’wide, stays in N’wide…….and same for ‘Cup.

Personally I would love to see them have at it. Edwards deserves to be driven into the wall, its about time someone put him in his place. Driving in to Jr. under caution, pulled punch at Kenseth and now all this Keselowski stuff. They did it cause its only gonna get worse and Edwards was already on probation Cup or not. Hes costing a lot of of others money, time and possibly injury for his own gratification. take him down a couple notches.

I don’t blame Carl Edwards one bit, I was in the stands and had the remains of his car fly all around me.Talk about trying to kill someone!! Everytime their has been a problem it’s from Brad trying to take him out and he’s retaliated! Brad needs to learn that some people in this world are going to react, I know I would.

What do you think that #3 car would do in these situations?

What happened “Let ‘em race?” Nascar appears to be pampering little boy brad, or can’t they see it? brad k has caused more problems on the track than any of the newer drivers and he’s getting away with it. Whats up with this? How much do other drivers have to move out of baby brads way so a problem does not develop? I am sorry Carl Edwards is the one to exhibit….I’ve had enough!!!!

Don’t understand nascar. This sells tickets & viewers. I think this is why nascar is losing their audience & ticket sales. This never happened with Dale Ernhart.Today’s races are boring and I don’t watch much anymore.

I was at GIR last Saturday night. I saw Brad “KESALOUSY” try to take Carl out twice. Im not saying that I think Carl is right, but Carl is like “old man Earnhardt” If you play with Edwards—he will ring your bell. Well I think it might be dangerous, but Edwards and Dale Sr. drive similarly, As does Brad and Gordon (especially in his early years). Think about it. Back then, almost every wreck was caused by “hot shoe Gordon” Nowadays most every wreck is caused by “Bad Brad” because neither driver has any regards for anyone else. Now look at Sr. and how he retalliaded against Gordon, compare that to “Edwards/Brad”. The 2 older are just trying to teach those 2 young idiots some respect. Gordon finally figured it out. Brad will to in time.

it’s funny that as soon as somebody slightly popular starts driving wrecklessly he’s automatically labeled the next messiah(#3)…. Brad races rough but Carl has been stepping over the line… just because he’s the face of NASCAR doesn’t mean he should get away with it… he got his revenge at Atlanta, this was just stupidity that caused a lot of people a lot of money… it’s fun to see good racing, but don’t act like a bitch just because you can’t hardly win a race in BOTH of NASCAR’s big series…
