Rick Houston over at NASCAR.com has an interesting proposal that he says will fix the Chase. In summary, he suggests that you take the top 20 drivers and run one race at the end of the year for all the marbles. We see drivers willing to take incredible risks during the All-Star race for $1 million. Can you imagine the battles we would see when the prize is $7 million and the NASCAR Sprint Cup Championship?
You can check out the details of Rick's modest proposal for yourself here.

I have always thought the Chase format just wasn’t right. I was thinking a few races at the end with only the the top drivers but I really like the idea of one race with the top 20 drivers. Kudos!!!!!! The exitement of true racing and none of the points racing, the exact problem that the Chase was supposed to correct. That was a true flop.
The format now just loses momentum and my interest in NASCAR has waned as well with the present Chase format. A change does need to happen and soon!!!!
Make it stick Rick Houston, that would be wonderful!!!!!
The last race should just be the chase contenders. To me ,its just not fair for the winner of the last race to have to share the spot light with the chase winner.
I would have to say the chase was pretty boring this year to say the least, but I don’t think the format is the problem. Before the Chase setup there were alot of runaway seasons that would put you to sleep.
Sounds like a great way to wreck a lot of cars, and kill a few drivers.
If this is done, you might as well have just one race a year. Anyone can win one race, its the season that counts. I do not think this year was boring even though I would rather have seen a different winner and Jr. in the chase. I cannot think of a better way than the way it is. If they hadn’t changed it, Gordon would have more championships (and that would be great).
