What Is The Second Biggest Story of 2009?

The 2009 NASCAR season is in the books and this season has brought some great news stories.   Before we forge ahead into 2010 lets take some final looks back at the season that just ended.  Jimmie Johnson's record-breaking fourth consecutive Championship is what 2009 will always be known for.  However what was the next biggest story of 2009?

Or is there something else that tops your list of the biggest NASCAR stories of 2009?

Tie between the SHR performance in their opening year and the complete and utter breakdown of Roush. I think Kyle’s missed chase will be a footnote in his career and not a defining moment. Same with Dale Jr and his lackluster performance.

Also in contention should be NASCAR’s meddling with the game — the double file restarts (good, in most cases) and the dega disaster (the latter one, where they changed the rules about bump drafting).

The Hendrick 1-2-3 is a nice story, but not giant, and Mark Martin’s resurgence is also heartwarming, but my vote’s for the Roush thing. They just completely fell apart.
