Sprint Cup Awards Banquet Friday Night

Don't forget that the 2009 NASCAR Sprint Cup Awards Banquet will be Friday night at 9pm on SPEED.  This year the banquet gets four hours of live coverage on SPEED.  This will also be the first time since 1981 that the ceremony will be held outside of New York City.

Will NASCAR bring some of Las Vegas' unique magic to the banquet or will we see more of the same old teleprompter-fed coporate spew?  I really am hoping that the banquet can be exciting again like it was before the teleprompter ruined it in 1998.

Your right Steve ,a little more race related and alot less selling. The commercials on each race remind me of the hay days of Michael Jackson ,you got to hate his music simply from over exposure. The toyota knob in the tree is the new Michael.Watching commercials with intermitent racing is not cutting it anymore.

A Huge congratulations must go out to Sprint and Nascar for their decision to move to Las Vegas for the year end awards. A Big thank you to Speed Channel for live broadcasting the entire banquet for the Nascar racing world. THis banquet should have always been live television on the SPEED Channel as a matter of fact. Any other channel would not have the background to do the job justice. Nascar and Speed Channel go togather like the cartoon Tom & Jerry.

Now that the first LasVegas show is over, next years show should be so much better with less lost air space. Jeff and Steve did a great job prior to the main event. Once the banquet started, more direction is needed to make the program run smoother. Put the 12 drivers, wife at a table on the stage and also their Crew Chiefs & wife at another table on stage. THe ones that were on stage this year should be put at the first table on the main floor.
