Short Track Tempers Flare As Hamlin Wins in Martinsville

Sunday October 25, 2009

Denny Hamlin had the best car when it counted during the 2009 Tums Fast Relief 500 at Martinsville Speedway. Point leader  Jimmie Johnson was hot on his heels for a green-white-checkers restart but had to settle for second.  Johnson extended his point lead over Mark Martin with just four races remaining in the 2009 Chase

Tempers flared during the race as A.J. Allmendinger and Joey Logano dueled.  Later in the race Kyle Busch and Carl Edwards also battled.  Despite the obviously intentional contact between these drivers NASCAR kept the penalties in their pockets and let them race.

I like that NASCAR chose to let the drivers do battle. In the past NASCAR  went way too far in gutting the sport of any genuine emotion.  Has anyone seen Kurt Busch since NASCAR penalized, and apparently replaced him with a robot, back  in 2003?

Hey Kurt! I think it's safe to come out now.

I think, sadly, that Ford and especially Carl Edwards are turning into international jokes, judging on their performances the last couple of races.

They need their butts kicked.

It’s a shame that there are two sets of rules, one set for Jimmie Johnson and one set for everyone else. If you pass a car on pit road and the driver that is passed is observing the speed limit than the driver that is passing is speeding. I don’t care where the scoring loops are. If anyone else was speeding they would have been flagged for speeding. Just anotlher chapter in the Jimmie Johnson Show

Yeah I totallly agree with the speeding statement, And will ad!

Its a sad day to see Dale Jr. being used to allow jimmie more pit time when the car is off, so he can win the championship again.

There is no way shape or form that the jr’s car could blow tires every few laps inless it was set up too!

His crew chief and himself would know if the camber was that far out, The tire wasn’t being smoked off with brakes.

How shiity must that feel, To be in that postion by both Jimmie and Jr.

SHAME ON RICK FOR ALLOWING THIS IN HIS CAMPS!!!

SHAME ON NASCAR FOR RUINING THE SPORT!!

since we are talking about tempers – what’s up w/Montoya driving so crazy w/Jeff Gordon and Jimmie Johnson? He sure couldn’t do that type driving in the Indy cars! He really acted like a punk and a hater on Sunday. He needs to remember the same drivers you see on your way up, are going to be the same ones you see going down!
