I think Wendell Scott should be considered for the Hall of Fame. He was the first African American to compete in NASCAR with 495 starts and a win on December 1, 1963 at Jacksonville. He finished no worse than tenth in the final standings from 1966 to 1969. He had very little help and support all those years. He is a Hall of Famer in my book and should also be to the powers that be in NASCAR.
THIS IS NASCAR. YOU GOT ALL YOUR BALL GAMES AND DEAD M.J.TO CRY ABOUT. HONOR ARE FIGHTING MEN.WE DON’T NEED TOKEN. WHAT ABOUT ALAN K.
I think Dale Earnhardt Sr. should be one of the first five nominated into the Hall of Fame since he was a seven champion and he gave his life for Nascar.
Ricky Rudd- an Ironman of Nascar!!!!!!! Should be in there before some of those other people! And King Richard shuold be first, and Dale Sr second…..
WHAT????? No ,Dale Jarrett??????? Are you all crazy???????
I have to agree with Tina and Im a Teana too!! Wish he was still racin’—-he will always be the “88″ in my book. DALE JARRETT RULES!!!!
i think the king should be the first in the hall of fame for he was the first and only drive to win both and don,t forget the great bobby allison who also was the greatest driver along with dale sr.they also need a place for bill france sr. you got it all started.
i just left a comment about the king and bobby allison and dale sr. but, the one i almost forgot to mention is davey allison he gave his all and poored his heart for racing and for the fans he would have been the one to beet the kings record if anybody does but, i think in the future you better keep your eyes on kasey kane he had a good teacher and he is just sleeper right now but, when things break loose then look out you,ll see that #9 up front again just like it was when bill elliot drove it and they should put awsome bill from dawsonville in there as well after all he set a track record at talladega and won the first million from winston.
NASCAR could have included Wendell Scott who finished in the top 10 in points ten years in a row. A tough record for any group of drivers, old or new. Here are four they could have left off to make a place for Scott.
Richie Evans
Tim Flock
Bill France Jr
Bill France Sr
Why would Wendell Scott be on the list except for being black theres nothing there. One win and ten top ten point finishes, hell Ken Scharder and 100 other white drivers have better stats than that! You would have to include Dave Marcus 5 wins 2nd place in pts. 1975 32 straight starts at the Daytona 500 a record! Dave raced on a shoe string for years and always gave his best.No Dave doesnt belong in the hall of fame . Im not knocking Wendell Scott but should Montoya be elected because he is Hispanic!
dwc, you missed the point altogether
No I didnt MISS THE POINT AT ALL its always the same point any black that is 1st in any sport should be in the hall of fame and put ahead of more deserving poor whites even if they had just as hard of time as the black! Wendell Scott should be proud of what he did in racinig but the same people that premote blacks are the same ones that call poor southern whites redneck trailor trash! Scott should have a mention in the hall of fame but not as one of the 25 greatest
Gentle dwc: I know all things still aren’t equal, but
I thought much progress has been made. Constantly beating that nearly dead horse doesn’t
bring progress, just stiffens backs. I don’t give a
rat’s patoot the color of the drivers. I love what they
do with their brains and talents. I’m not in much
knowledge of drivers, but I am voting for those I have watched and admired. Get youself busy and
push for minority drivers…..I know any thing on this order will bring respect and not criticism.

ps I hope I have not confused anyone.
