Tony Stewart Wins Wild Daytona Finish
Kyle Busch was in command when the race took the white flag but he never made it back to the finish line. Fortunately everyone was ok after he threw a block on Tony Stewart when there wasn't enough room. Busch crashed out of the lead triggering the second multi-car wreck of the night.
Much like Talladega in April this finish was simply the product of the current restrictor plate racing rules. The leader has to block aggressively and the pursuers can't give an inch. Until the NASCAR rules change this is what we will get.

The only thing that was wrong with the Daytona race was Kyle Busch. He was just being his typical self. He was taking a chance that Tony would lift so that he could win. Tony didn’t back down just like Brad did not back down at Talladega.
Restrictor plate racing is the best.
I have always been a Tony Stewart fan, I am also a Kyle Bush fan, if it wasnt for Kyle Bush bump drafting Tony Stewart most of the race, I really dont think Tony would have won, if we refresh our memories , Tony Stewart was absolutely arrogant, rowdy , but an exceptionally good driver as is Kyle Bush. They do their job, are very good at it.
My favorite driver is Kyle Bush, I think its a shame that people put him down so much, what he did by smashing that guitar was wrong, but he is a good driver. Did Dale Earnhart Jr. , run out to see if his brother Kerry was ok when Kerrys car caught on fire at the Nationwide Race, Daytona. That is his brother, I didnt hear or see anyone screaming over that, Kerry Earnhart looks identical to his father, but you fans , still like Jr. better. When all of you fans seen Kyle Bush hit the wall you all screamed like you wished him dead. I wish him the championship. I also respect every driver out there, its the best sport there is, they give there all. I am proud of NASCAR and all they stand for, go Kyle Bush and all of the drivers.
I watched the first part of the race before going to watch fireworks and got home just in time to catch the end. It was great! I’m a Jr. fan myself,( what the heck is up with him anyway?) but I like Stewart too. It was great to see him put Kyle in his place (the wall)!
Kyle Busch got exactly what he asked for. Just because a driver helps you out one lap, doesn’t mean you give him the race. Kyle tried to cut Tony off, but he was already there, and there wasn’t enough room for both of them. I’m just sorry Kasey Kahne and Joey Logano had to get involved. Great race, Tony, and so very gracious at the end.
Glad to see that little twerp spun into the wall (glad he wasn’t hurt – don’t want that, made my day
Stewart rules – Bush drools! There could not have been a better ending to this race. Bush is so cocky, he thinks he is entitled. That interview bit a couple weeks ago between Bush & Jr. showed just how immature Bush really is.
Nobody was at fault for the wreck just a product of two hard racers going for the win. Best finish in a while. Not to bring up a sore subject but has Dale jr lost it or what? To think that JR could suck that bad at daytona is crazy but the truth is he hasnt done well in the past few years on the super speedways.I hate to say it cause im a fan but he needs to step down a notch and race with the sprint cup guys for a while so he can get a few wins and boost his confidence.(Hopefully)
Kyle Busch needed to be brought behind the woodshed and taught a lesson,,and Tony was holding school on the last lap.
Although the ending was great. If we didn’t have drivers to pull against what would we have?
With that being said I too dislike Kyle but I think he’s a hell of a driver!! I’m of course a Jr. fan being a long time fan of his dad and growing up in Kannapolis N.C. I have to say I like Kyle’s driving style and his willingness to put it in there so to speak.
He’s hungry to make a name for himself whereas Jr. was born with his. I truly feel like Jr. is not hungry and goes to the track with the mind set that he’s got to go to work and work sucks. Take away all his money and give him say $10,000 for a win down to $1000.00 for tenth and nothing for less than a top ten and I’ll bet you he will get up on the wheel!! I hope I’m wrong and he’s just hit a bad streak of luck and needs time to gel with his new crew chief but honestly I think it’s all Jr. Way to go Tony!! Glad to see his mouthy A@% planted like popcorn. We got to have someone to pull for and we’ve got to have someone to hate. Poeple want to know where there driver is and they also have to know where the driver is they dislike. I’ll keep pulling for Jr. and I’ll keep to see watching to see where Kyle is.
Tony Stewart is DA MAN !!Hands down !! Bout time someone put the Bush bros in there place!!
I am neither a Busch or a Stewart fan. However, the problem that I have here is NASCAR’s inconsistancy in applying the rules. The week before when Lagarno was spun out coming to the checkers at Infineon, NASCAR quickly ruled that the offending driver was guilty of ‘rough driving’ and immediately took the win away from him. How is this situation different from that at Daytona last Saturday night? The difference is this: NASCAR loves Stewart and hates Busch. Sad that NASCAR applies its own rules inconsistantly depending upon if it likes a certain team or driver. Perhaps Stweart’s profuse apologies in the winner’s circle convienced NASCAR that he is really the good guy here! Come on NASCAR, if you are going to have a rule at least apply it consistantly or get ride of the rule.
Okay jrh (#13) What part of Kyle Busch hitting Tony Stewart did you not see? Everyone else commenting on this saw the same thing, just going for the win on both drivers part.
Go Tony Go!!!
I agree the wreck was tataly Kyles fault!! It’s going to happen when someones got a bumper up beside you and you turn right to block. There is no way that was rough driving on Tonys part.
Please, Please, Please, no more NASCAR regulations. They crews and drivers are regulated to death already. The spontanaity has been regulated out of the races and it is making for more boring racing not more exciting racing. NASCAR back off and let the drivers and crews do their jobs and use thier ideas. And they wonder why viership and attendance is down.
Kyle Bush Is Cocky And Arogant! So Is Tony Stewart! They Are Both Awesome Drivers,To Bad About The Wreck(Kyles Wrong Decision)It Would have Been A Great Race To The Finish Line! That Would Of Been Better Than The Wreck To See Them Race It Out!
