Mark Martin Wins Fuel Mileage Michigan Race
Sunday June 14, 2009
Mark Martin only lead one lap in today's 2009 LifeLock 400 at Michigan International Speedway but it was the most important one. Martin went from third to first on the final lap as Jimmie Johnson and then Greg Biffle both ran out of gas while leading.
This was about as exciting as a fuel mileage race can get. I am glad NASCAR didn't find some mysterious debris during that final run to the checkers to try to tighten up the finish.

I’m glad I didn’t spend the afternoon watching yet another NASCAR gas milage race. NASCAR needs to increase the size of the gas tanks in the cars so the drivers can RACE to the finish line. 1 gallon would probably be enough. Come on NASCAR! Get your head out your ass! It’s suppose to be RACING,
I agree the fuel mileage game is just a farce!
I have a solution for the manufactures who have left nascar. Take the Chevrolet Chrysler
labels off the cars and put nascar in their place or the team names. Don’t give the manufactures any publicity at all!
Maybe Honda will bring a car to nascar and maybe others.
The end of the race with the fuel mileage was way better than watching JJ drive around the field like they were standing there.
There was a lot of racing going on in the rest of the field, though. one of the better Michigan races and rather than saying it was won on fuel, it was actually lost on fuel due to the racing that was going on for position.
BORING, BORING, BORING!
