Dale Earnhardt Jr. Tops Talladega Storylines

This weekend the NASCAR Sprint Cup stars will visit Talladega Superspeedway for the 2009 Aaron's 499. Dale Earnhardt Jr. has an amazing Talladega Superspeedway history including a seven race stretch from 2001 - 2004 where he scored five wins and two second place finishes.
However Junior made news this week for a different reason. He was placed on probation for six races along with Casey Mears for their on-track bumping after the checkered flag in Phoenix. Does this signal a newly energized Junior who can be a threat to win this Sunday?

I am a die hard Jeff Gordon fan, my office proves it.. However Jr. is due and I would like to see him in the Winners Circle. He doesn’t have anything to prove to his fans, Only to himself, like Jeff did a couple of weeks ago. They are still two of the best driver in the history of Nascar. Dale Jr. will be alright in Daga. If no engine problems, and plays his cards right. Dale Jr. will be in VL.
I’m also a die hard Gordon fan, and it was good to see him in Victory Lane 2 weeks ago. Even though this is a good track for Jr. I don’t see him winning @ Dega this weekend. He makes tooooo many mistakes and takes toooo many chances……..
What a stupid question! Of course not, this idiot has ruined a good crew and crew-chief by chewing at them and blaming them to the point that they flich and do make mistakes. Terrisa must be paying them to screw up. Orrr,,,, maybe HE JUST CAN”T DRIVE!!!!!!!
Junior is a good kid and the Earnhardts have done a lot for racing. Having said that,it seems to me that something is dramatically wrong here.
If I were in charge I would tell him to only tell Tony about one problem at a time. That way Tony won’t make 5 or 6 changes at once and not have a clue as to what did what.
Second, I would tell Dale jr. that if he needs a perfect car on a perfect track to just park the damn thing and save the team some money.
Last week when the whole world knew the tires were gone he should have come in under green and got a few. No matter what happened he would have been better off than in the wall.
It might be time to grow up junior.
Dale jr is a good guy but definitly not a great driver.Good guy good driver period.Just elevated by the last name.
I don’t know what everyone likes so much about JEFF GORDON “whinney But” It would suit me fine if he never placed higher than 15th.

I am of course a big love of Jeff Gordon too. See my new card from bofa with him on it. I was sure hoping Jr. would get a win, it would sure help the team.I guess we will see this weekend what happens.
I don’t know why Jr. gets so much attention and praise for his driving. He was with DEI and he blamed them for his inability to win. He jumps over to Hendrick, who has the best equipment in NASCAR and he still can’t win.
Jr. is NOT one of the BEST drivers ever in NASCAR. At his best he was good, but I’m afraid his best may be behind him. It seems everyone else is to blame for him not winning. The longer he goes without a win the more you’ll see this kind of reaction on the track. It’s just his fustration coming to the surface.

I to am on Jr’s side with each race but then I end up seeing him miss his mark and he should not put all the blame on the crew he is just as much at falut as they may be! I know each race I pick Jr. to win but by half way I am rethinking why did I pick him again

Im a JR fan but he is having way to many problems with hendrick. He was a threat to win at the super speedways but not any more, hes lost it or something the last few years havnt been good for him their. Its not the cars, hes in the best cars in racing im sorry but its JR he just sucks.
To all of you that posted are really something. You are saying that Dale Jr blames his crew when something bad happens, well you are wrong. I have heard Jr many times blame him ownself for the problems. Jr is a great driver and why does everyone have to compare him to other drivers? This may very well be his weekend to shine and win at Talladega. if people gave Jr a few compliments maybe he would do better. Quit running him down all the time. I was a big Jr fan, but I’m tired of all the excuses, I don’t think his heart is in the sport, he’s making to much money being a celebrity, also I don’tthink Tony Jr. is the man to guy this mess.Its time Jr stops all the complaining and starts showing everyone that he can drive. He’s lived off his name long enough!!!
nascar is getting so pooh but its not even racing anymore. they should concetrate on racing and let people have there fun. Kids will be kids
Dale Jr and Tony Jr have a communication problem. They are both on the same page but not reading from the same book. This was very evident at Loudon last year. JR would call in and say that the car was tight, but actually it was loose. Jr and Jr need to go off to a private short track and work on their car handling interpertation and understanding.
Any idea where I can buy an Dale Jr. autographed 1/24 #88 car from the 2009 Talladega race from 11/1/09?
