Martin Truex Jr. Claims Pole for 2009 Daytona 500

Based on the Daytona 500's unique qualifying format only the two fastest drivers from today's qualifying are locked into their qualifying spots. Martin Truex Jr. and Mark Martin were quickest of the 56 drivers that took the green flag today. They are guaranteed to start on the front row Sunday. The rest of the starting lineup will be determined by Thursday's Duel 150-mile qualifying races.
