Jimmie Johnson on Cover of Sports Illustrated

Jimmie Johnson is on the cover of the November 24th issue of Sports Illustrated which hits newsstands today. The cover story by Lars Anderson touches on the personal side of Jimmie's life and difference between his NASCAR persona and the "real" Jimmie.
At the track Jimmie is the perfect spokesman for the sport and his sponsors. Away from the track Jimmie is a guy's guy who loves to be crazy. (remember the incident a couple of years ago where he fell off the top of a moving golf cart?)
The issue is on sale now and shows a very different side of Jimmie Johnson that we never see at the race track.

All I have read lately is about Jimmie Johnson and Johnnie Benson. Did everybody forget about Clint Bowyer? Even the guys on Speed mention Johnson & Benson, not Bowyer. Am I missing something or are they? Don’t forget that the Nationwide final race came down to the last lap, that was just as dramatic as either of the other two races.

Now that Jimmie’s on the cover of Sports Illustrated his racing career is over. The Curse of Sports Illustrated will claim another victim.
What cover is Clint Bowyer on??? What about Johnny Benson. If I’m not mistaken these guys brought home a championship too!!!

Thanks! I thought that is was just me! Being a Bowyer fan, I noticed that he rarely gets any airtime. I guess he’ll just have to try harder next year and maybe they’ll notice.
I follow Nascar and work for a company that does Nascar memorabilia… this image of Jimmie is creapy… how much air brush time when into this… I see lots of images of him daily.. but man this one creaps me out. Looks nothing like him. Vanity has just entered the building.

Don’t be haters people. In case you haven’t noticed the Nationwide and Truck series are just the minor leagues. Jimmie can out race any and all of them so he DESERVES the cover and btw…IT’S HOT! It must be the jealous people commenting on how bad the cover is. Get used to it people, he’ll be EVERYWHERE next year after his 4th Championship! GO JIMMIE #48 !!!!!!!!!
Did Benson or Boyer tie a 30 year old record?!?!?!? Jimmie has made history and he did it with class! He is THE MAN
Let’s not forget - Jimmie won because of the chase format. Kyle Busch had this in the bag until he entered the chase and had some bad luck. Everytime I hear someone say “Jimmie Johnson” I think of “the whole nine yards” where they call Bruce Willis “Yimmy.”
