Edwards Wins Race but Bowyer Wins Nationwide Crown

Saturday November 15, 2008
Carl Edwards did everything that he could to overcome Clint Bowyer's point lead in the 2008 Nationwide Series championship. Edwards' season ending charge included wins in three of the last four races including tonight's Ford 300 but he ended up 21 points short of his ultimate goal.

Clint Bowyer kept Edwards in his sights all night long and finished fifth to clinch the 2008 NASCAR Nationwide Series title.

Bowyer was rock solid in 2008 posting 29 top ten finishes during the 35 race season. Bowyer was the model of consistency which is exactly what the NASCAR point system rewards.

Congratulations to Clint Bowyer and his Richard Childress Racing team.
