Johnny Benson Wins 2008 Craftsman Truck Series Title

Friday November 14, 2008
The 2008 Craftsman Truck Series Championship battle came down to the very last lap of the season. Johnny Benson came into tonight's race with a three point lead in the points. Whoever finished in front would win the 2008 Championship.

Late in the race Johnny Benson stayed out on old tires to get track position while Ron Hornaday pitted for four fresh tires. Benson was in the lead but was losing positions as the handle went away on his truck.

At the same time Hornaday was charging towards the front as the laps ticked away. It was as close as it could possibly be as Benson ended up seventh while Hornaday finished eighth.

This was as close as a NASCAR Championship battle can be. Congratulations to Johnny Benson and his Bill Davis Racing team on winning the 2008 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Championship.

Is it just me or is Scott Speed the biggest pos on the planet. When he parked in front of hornaday on the last restart, that made me realize what kind of person he is. I realize that he drives a toyota and he was helping that other toyota win a championship, but really screwed up what could have been a good finish to a well run race. I will never buy anything speed endorces.
