2008 Season Grows Short In Texas

Thursday October 30, 2008
2008 Dickies 500 at Texas Motor SpeedwayOnly three races currently remain in the 2008 NASCAR Sprint Cup season. For drivers like Jeff Gordon and Matt Kenseth who are accustomed to winning races there is not much time left in 2008 for them to break out of their slumps.

Can either of these two former Champions break their 2008 winless streaks in this weekend's 2008 Dickies 500 at Texas Motor Speedway?

Both Jeff and Matt are not in a slump, they just have not won a race yet this year. They have not performed their best this year, it happens. In a slump, the country is in a slump. These guys sure don’t need the money and because of that, I believe, they are not trying as hard as they could. Just look at these guys when they were on their way up.

Nascar is at its pike, they can not get any bigger, despite what many are saying. Football, baseball, hockey and others can’t get any bigger. When you go to a Nascar race anymore, you are going to a carnival. They are trying so hard to get the fans to the track earlier and keeping them there with other things to do. You can’t just go to a race anymore for $20 bucks, it’s hundreds now.

It is rather obvious that the whole chase format is rigged.
