Chase Leaders Weak At Plate Tracks

Monday September 29, 2008
This weekend the NASCAR Sprint Cup series will visit Talladega for the fourth and final restrictor plate race of 2008. Jimmie Johnson, Carl Edwards and Greg Biffle come into Talladega as the point leaders but how will they fare on Sunday? If past performance is any indicator of future results the answer may be "not so well."

Carl Edwards is best among the leaders with a dismal 20.3 average finish in the three restrictor plate races held so far this season. Point leader Jimmie Johnson is second best with an average finish of 21st. Greg Biffle is the worst of the three with a 2008 plate racing average of 23.6.

If these averages hold true then this week could see a big shuffle in the 2008 Chase standings.
