Jimmie Johnson Takes Kansas Win and Chase Lead

Sunday September 28, 2008
Today's 2008 Camping World RV 400 at Kansas Speedway saw an exciting finish. Jimmie Johnson appeared to have the race under control until Carl Edwards pulled out all the stops on the last lap.

Edwards tried a pass he learned in a video game. He simply didn't slow down for the corner, intentionally hit the wall and let the wall turn the car. Edwards indeed got past Johnson on the last lap but Jimmie kept his cool and passed Edwards while he was against the wall.

This was quite a finish. I've seen drivers overdrive the corner and get into the wall before. However, I have never heard a driver say that they did it on purpose based on something they tried in a video game.

Well What the Heck. All CARS must be identical now! So they can not “ENGINEER” the car to have an advantage. Crew Cheifs are getting hammered left&right for trying different SUBTLE ideas to give their car the advantage. So I guess the only thing left is for the DRIVER him/her self to try a little ingenuity. Whether you like or dislike that komikazee move. You must give “cousin Carl” credit for trying something different

that was about the dumbest move I have ever seen in Nascar. too purposely hit the wall. He could have wrecked Jimmie. Maybe he should just go back to playing video games all the time and stay off the real race track.

PJ, ARE YOU NUTS, CARL DIDN’T HIT THE WALL ON PURPOSE. THIS CHASE CRAP IS THE DUMBEST THING THAT NASCAR HAS EVER DONE AND THEY ARE DOING SOME REALLY STUPID THINGS. WE CAN ONLY HOPE SOMEONE WILL COME ALONG AND START ANOTHER RACEING GROUP AND WE WILL NO LONGER HAVE TO SUFFER THE STUPIDITY OF NASCAR.

Wait to go Jimmie J on the win…. and although I’m not a big Carl fan, I have to give him props on doing whatever it took to try and get a win.
