Joey Logano To Drive #20 in 2009

Tuesday August 26, 2008
Joe Gibbs Racing made it official today. JGR named 18 year old Joey Logano as the 2009 driver of the Home Depot #20 which Tony Stewart currently drives on the NASCAR Sprint Cup circuit. Joey will make a few starts in the Cup series this year in a special #02 to build some experience for next season.

Who do you think will have the better year in 2009 based on the final Sprint Cup point standings Joey Logano or Tony Stewart? Tony has tons more experience, but Logano clearly has the more established team. For my vote I'll take the rookie over the two-time champ in 2009.

A I said before when I watched Joey almost lap the entire field (all but second & third)in a ARCA race he is going to be a great driver. However, I think it will take some time for Joey to jell with the 20 team so I will go with Smoke & his proven ability to drive & win in anything on wheeles!
Good luck to the 20 team but as I always say: Go Tony Go!!!

Joey, Joey, Joey will be no Tony, Tony, Tony. I think Gibbs blew it by not giving Smoke a chance to do his own Team ala Junior with Henricks. The publicity bluzz for the 20 team next year will be a Smoke Screen.

It’s a known fact that Jeff Gordon is co owner of Jimmy Johnson, I don’t know why JGR wouldn’t let Tony Stewart do the same thing within their organization, unless it’s pure greed on their part
