Kyle Busch Drives Past Jimmie Johnson To Claim Chicagoland

Saturday July 12, 2008
The 2008 LifeLock.com 400 featured 397 pretty boring miles but the final three were worth the wait. Kyle Busch lead the most laps but Jimmie Johnson was out front and looked like he had the car to beat at the end. A late race caution set the stage for the final dash for the checkers.

Jimmie Johnson probably had the fastest car but Kyle Busch simply out-raced him at the end. Busch drove around Johnson on the outside with two laps to go and beat him back to the checkered flag.

(2) Van Straughan says:

I think theres something fishy about all the success Kyle Bush is having this season. They should take all his cars in and give them a good inspection. Funny Smoke is leaving in the middle of all this Gibbs success, could there be something going on that he knows about that he doesn’t want to be associated with?

WAY TO GO KYLE, GREAT DRIVING, GREAT WIN. YOUR PROBABLY RIGHT THAT WITHOUT THE LAST CAUTION JIMMY WOULD HAVE WON, BUT WITHOUT THE PREVIOUS CAUTION JIMMY WOULD NOT HAVE HAD A CHANCE. I DON’T KNOW HOW NASCAR DOES IT BUT THEY JUST WANT ALL THE CARS IN ONE LARGE GROUP AT THE FINISH AND IT ALMOST ALWAYS LEADS TO CRASHES AND CAUTIONS. I DON’T THINK THEY WANT TO FAVOR ANYONE THEY JUST WANT A SPECTACULAR FINISH. I FOR ONE AM GETTING TIRED OF THE GREEN=WHITE-CHECKERED FINISH.

It seems funny to me that no one was complaining about the Hendrick horsepower last year when they were winning all those races.

Way to go Kyle! Johnson and Gordon should be driving wheel chairs the way they drive!
It takes guts to win ! Not pull you tail between you legs and pull over because you are afraid to trade paint.

Well, I complained about Hendrick last year but let’s not go there.
Even with another 20 or so horsepower, Kyle can just plain drive, the guy is amazing. I really hate to admit it, but in the darkest corners of my mind, I’m starting to like him!

All i can say is… Stay with the Toyotas. They will still be around when the Detroit cars are GONE>

(15) Dennim says:

Kyle Busch is a hard chargin, up on the wheel racecar driver. He makes the rest of the drivers look like they out there on the track for a sunday drive.Collecting a paycheck. Times are starting to get tough, soon they will have to earn their keep or they will be gone.
