It's Official: Stewart to Leave Joe Gibbs

Tony Stewart made it official today. He will leave Joe Gibbs Racing at the end of 2008 to become owner/driver of the Haas CNC Racing team. In 2009 that team will be known as Stewart Haas Racing. You can find all the details here at NASCAR.com.
When the rumor first surfaced there was a lot of speculation about whether Tony would really leave Gibbs. Now that it has been announced there are still unanswered questions. Who will replace Tony in the #20? Can Tony still win and be a contender with his new team?

I saw today where Tony was released from the rest of his contract with Gibbs, but I also heard something about Ryan Newman driving a car for Tony or replacing Tony in the #20. Has anyone heard anything on this?
Way to Go Tony….I say screw Toyota,I will be glad to see Tony in a Chevy again and it will be a good move for the future.

Good for Legano! Tony is quite the man to move aside. I know wherever he is, he is a great racer and that he will do very well!

Tony will not win another race for several years. Had he joined an existing team he would do fine, but he will never make it this way any time soon. I am gald to see Toyota loose a good driver and I will be glad to watch Tony fail he is just to big of Jerk for my taste.
I have been a Stewart fan before he entered NASCAR. However, when Gibbs sold out to Toyota for the cash, I no longer could root for Tony. All I can say is that I am a Tony fan once again. “SMOOTH” move Tony.

What could Tony Stewart be thinking? He is going from the very best team in NASCAR to perhaps the worst. The owner is so dishonest, he is in jail for the next two years. I cannot even tell you who drives for that team currently. If you have seen Tony blow his cool in the past, you have seen nothing yet. Zippy, his famous crew chief has the good sense to stay with Gibbs.
Tony will win any place he goes he wasnt happy at gibbs mabey because of joey and all the attention hes getting but dont forget tony is one of nascars hardest working and passionit drivers…GO TONY..
