Kyle Busch Wins After Wreck Filled Daytona Finish

Saturday July 5, 2008
The finish of the 2008 Coke Zero 400 at Daytona was a mess. This race had eight cautions in the final 45 laps including an aborted green-white-checkers finish. That final caution caused NASCAR to go to the videotape to determine the winner. Kyle Busch was ahead of Carl Edwards when the yellow flew and was awarded his sixth win of 2008.

Can anyone catch Kyle Busch in 2008? His Joe Gibbs Toyota team will now have a 30 point lead when the Chase begins and there are eight races left for him to pile up even more wins. Kyle Busch is having a very impressive 2008 so far.

Big deal. I am not his fan. Many of my friends are so tired of him that we are thinking of not watching any more of the races.

I don’t really like kyle but I have to give him a thumbs up for being a very good driver. To those of you are going to stop watching, you are the ones that are going to miss out. Nobody cares if you watch or not.

My wife is is not a NASCAR fan but got caught up in the race. She was upset when Jeff Gordon was spun out near the end. Her observation was that the slow restart, caused by the first car in line Kyle Bush, forced Gordon to change lines to avoid hitting the 18. Thereby resulting in the spin out of the 24. Very observant for a non-race fan. This action justs adds to the legend of Kyle Bush the man of the black hat and the deep bow. I agree with Patty about Kyle, but remind those who would turn off NASCAR. We need villans in life. What would John Wayne have done without them?

GREAT RACE KYLE AND GREAT DRIVING. THE USUAL NASCAR FINISH WHICH THEY MANAGE TO CREATE EVERY RACE. KYLE DROVE A GREAT RACE AND HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH JEFF GORDONS SPIN OUT. LLOYD GET A LIFE.

Kyle can go SUK canal water for all I care. He’s nothing but a crybaby- He can dish it out but can’t take it. Hoping someone will do a Montoya on him every race

(10) David says:

Rick Hendrick kicked Kyle Busch to the curb so he could sign Dale Earnhardt JR. It is very obvious to me who is the best driver of the two.
I say “GO KYLE!”

i am sick of kyle busch and his toyota in cuo nationwide you know almost the out come of the race it seems to me that they have more of everything lets get the gm,ford and dodge camps more power so the toyota teams do not stink up the show

(12) Leanna says:

I agree with Dave302. He can dish it out but sure can’t take it, he is a big crybaby. That to me is why most do not like him. He wins cause he does not care for anyone except himself. He is dangerous on the track.

(13) Sam says:

Kyle isnt that good hes got 15 to 20 more horespower.Toyotas across the board are doing better.Nascar will even the feild very soon and the best team with the better drivers will shine. Then well see how good he is!

Most people whom post here are complete morons whom should not even be allowed to watch or comment on a NASCAR race as thier drivel is making any sencesible person sick to thier stomach.KB is the best talant to grace our racetracks since Jeff Gordon. Like or hate him he gets the job done and without talant like his NASCAR is nothing

You have a point about KB, sparky, he’s an amazing driver. But moronic drivel indeed… pot, meet kettle.

(17) vjl says:

Many of you who post here needs to study a dictionary instead of Nascar. Look at what you type before sending it. As for Kyle Busch, he is what he is and Nascar has their head so far up his butt that they are going to allow him to do whatever he wants for the ratings. I like many of you have decided to stop watching until I hear of the other drivers growing some balls and putting a stop to the nonsence. I hope it is soon because there isn’t much else to watch on Sunday afternoons.

July 7, 2008 at 12:46 pm
(18) Lloyd says:

Vjl is right. I should have proof read my comments. However, vjl also needs to check grammar books again about sentence structure. Mustang 65 I have a life and it’s spelled N-A-S-C-A-R for the last 61 years. Isn’t venting fun and nascar fan is right about Kyle, but that black cowboy hat and bowing is such a great target for us morons.

(23) Sam says:

Sorry, Dunbar we all are idiots and you are so smart you must work for nascar as an official sports writer since you no so much about racing. If you no so much you would have seen speed channel, nascar, all the anouncers, rick hendric, and almost every driver comment on it but again you must be so high up in nascar that you no more then them? And also retard i said that ALL the toyotas are doing better than last year.Hmmmmm Think before you comment and actually follow the sport a little closer!!

(24) Smoke62 says:

I’d just like to say that there’s no rule against a slow start. As for Gordon getting spun out, well that’s racing. Don’t get me wrong, I think Jeff is a great driver. But Jeff was blocking Carl, and if Carl had lifted, he knew he had no chance to win. In Nascar, sometimes you have several cars fighting for the same piece of real estate. It belongs to whomever gets there first. As for Kyle, well the boy can drive. He got bumped and had to save his car from a crash, next he had power steering problems and went to the back and came back to the front. If you asked me, it sounded like he wanted it more. As for Montoya, tell me how a man admits to purposely wrecking another driver and Nascar doesn’t even penalize him or fine him? Sounds like Nascar might have a little more discrimination on their plate than they can handle!

(25) #18s #1 fan - rowdy's world says:

just a minor correction - currently kyle has a 40 point advantage in the chase bonus points. kyle has 6 wins (60 points), and carl has 3 wins, but only 20 bonus points - nascar stripped him of the 10 bonus points he should have received by winning at las vegas because of the infractions there…

and for those who are “turning off” because kyle is winning so much, your loss. he is making history across all three series and those of us watching will be able to say we saw it while it happened…

(26) jordan says:

kyle busch is no doubt the most talented driver. he is only 23 years old and is having a better season than anyone else and that wreck with jeff gordon isnt kyle busch’s fault. gordon tried blocking edwards and there wasn’t enough room down low and gordon went down low to block and spun out.

you guys can stop watching nascar because some 23 year old guy is doing better than everyone else. its your loss

(27) Sam says:

Dont get me wrong nascar needs a kyle bush for some personality but im saying dont give him to much credit he has no championships yet that im aware of and even kyle petty had a few good years. And also for dumbar i mean dunbar sorry, doesnt hamlin and joey drive toyotas??Again i said (ALL)Toyotas for the most part are doing much better out of noware compared to not even making races last year if you remember..

(28) Mick20 says:

OK, it seems that some of you need a refresher!

Last year Toyota came into the Nationwide & Sprint series using the Truck engine which NASCAR agree to for one year so they (Toyota) could develop their car engine. In the process Toyota was able to get an engine with around 15 to 20 more horse power than ALL other manufactures. This really is apparent in the Nationwide series as the Chevys use a different engine than the Sprint cup (less horsepower).

As for Kyle Busch it isn’t just his driving skills that are winning races but the 18 team as a complete unit that is winning races & most likely the championship for 2008! They have the momentum!! It seems that the 18 team has struck on something which makes them more competitive & able to win races just as Carl Edwards team in the nationwide series & Jimmy Johnson’s team did in the Sprint series did last year!

As most of you know , I’m a Smoke fan & don’t much care for the Busch brothers but, facts are facts, the 18 team seems to have it together this year & we as fans must see that even if we don’t like it!!

Go Tony Go!!!

That is great for Kyle, I have never been a personal fan of Kyle’s, but I do respect him and the effort he commits to the sport. Also it is good to see the extreme effort he puts into it is paying off.

It was ok for Dale Sr. to spin people out but other drivers cant do it. Think about that!!!!
