2008 All-Star Weekend
This weekend the NASCAR Sprint Cup stars will celebrate the sport's best teams and drivers with the 2008 NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race.
The festivities begin on Friday which is NASCAR Day. NASCAR fans will be able to show their NASCAR pride and their hearts by participating in NASCAR Day fundraising events. Friday night brings qualifying for the All-Star Race and the Craftsman Truck Series race. Saturday's activities include the Pennzoil Victory Challenge, the Sprint Showdown last-chance qualifying race and finally the Sprint All-Star Race.
This is a great weekend to be a NASCAR fan!

I hate the allstar race. It doesnt mean anything for points, its only done for money and money only. And who are the only ones getting paid, the drivers. I really think it is pointless to have an AllStar race in motorsport because really every race is an AllStar race. This is just a lame attempt by NASCAR to be like the other four pro sports with their allstar games.
I just love this race. It is a lot of fun and I sure wish I could go see it in person. Racing is the best….
GO Kyle Busch get you another WIN
Jeff…that’s the reason for the “off” button on your TV…
I am with you Sandra, if you don’t like it don’t watch. It is one of the best races all year, at least it used to be.I am not so sure about now with the new cars.It is my personal feeling that the new car has taken a lot out of the thrill of the race.I am all for the saftey of the drivers, but it lacks something that used to be there.
Leanna it is awsome in person, been there many times……..
Allstar races give the best of the best a race to show off their personal skills. It’s awesome for everyone, drivers and fans alike
Wow Jeff I guess you don’t watch too much more than the actual race on raceday if you really truly believe that the All Star race is all about money! Boy some people’s kids…
This race as per several drivers and NASCAR was created as a race for the fans and the fans only. It was started for the fans and is still for the fans today. The drivers know it and love it. They are getting a chance to go out there and race balls to the walls without having to worry about points and being careful AND again it is ALL for us fans…every bit of it. Thye love the race too because it is a very prestigous thing to be able to say that you are a winner of an All Star race.
Maybe Jeff if you started being a real race fan you might get a bit more enjoyment out of it but then again with an attitude like it appears you have it probably wouldn’t make any difference.
Like I said…some people’s kids!
Personally the All Star race is one of my favorite races BECAUSE it is not for points and the guys really race just for the fun of it and they race just for us. Get a clue Jeff…
