A Richmond Saturday Night

Thursday May 1, 2008
2008 Dan Lowry 400 by Crown RoyalThis weekend Richmond International Raceway will host the NASCAR Sprint Cup series on Saturday night. Richmond has a long history of great racing on its fast and wide short track.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. hasn't won a race since he rolled into Victory Lane in Richmond two years ago this weekend. Hendrick Motorsports drivers swept both poles and both races here in 2007. Now that he has Hendrick horsepower and know-how behind him can Dale Earnhardt Jr. finally return to Victory Lane?

Is Junior as good as his marketing?

7 top 10’s, 3 of those top 5, in 9 races?

He doesn’t need to win to answer that question.

#3— “get it wright”??
Watt? Iss dat youur laste kname?

There are many good racers out there. Many haven’t won in a while. They still contribute to the race, overall.

Do you realise how much it costs to get a good pole position in a race? You could retire on the money it takes to race for a year alone, and live damn well.

Dqale JR could out run any one of you sideline critics, blindfolded.

Dale is in the top runners every race now that he has gotten away from the “evil witch”. It’s only a matter of time for him to get another win.

He still leads the “JR army” and he is still way up in the top 10 runners!

Go Dale!

I for one am so sick of hearing about Jr.The only thing that got him where he is is his Name!!!! He is at best a good driver, but I don’t think you will ever be able to put him on to the Great list. And for the Jr. nation, most just went along pulling for him because of his Name…….And yes fyi I do live right in the heart of Jr. nation…

Hey Kathy, You hit the nail on the head.If it wasn’t for sr. no one would think jr. was anything special. he’s only got 17 wins. Jimmy Johnson has twice that many in half as many years. Also Jeff Gordon in a few more years than jr. has over 80 wins and 4 championships.(he should have 6, but got cheated out of two of them by Nextel.I might add, he passed up sr.’s wins in over 200 less races. Jr. is a fair driver, but by far is not the best driver in Nascar.Niff said.

What is this nonsense about just noticed because of his fathers name. Dale Jr. had a father and lost him in seconds. Sure people think what they want but we all know it’t all about money in all sports. I see Dale Jr. as a man without a dad and everyone was riding on that alot but Dale Jr. has a right to his own personal feelings and if he chose to race after the experience do you really think the money talked or Jr. should have run the other way? I am a big DJ fan and I don’t care what anyone says great changes have come from Dale Sr. accident and alot of other drivers benefit. What sports isn’t about money. Relax and enjoy what you see this year Go Jr. If you don’t like the way it is right now, wait 1 sec and it all can change.
