Michael McDowell Survives Dramatic Texas Qualifying Crash

Sunday April 6, 2008
Wow. Did you see Friday's qualifying crash involving Michael McDowell? His car got loose, he overcorrected just a hair and then the car hooked and plowed into the outside wall head-on. He skipped on his roof for a ways. The car then barrel-rolled down the track in flames. If you haven't seen it then check out the clip on YouTube.

McDowell walked away with just a few bumps and bruises. This incident is an amazing testament to the safety advances that NASCAR has made since Dale Earnhardt crashed at Daytona in 2001.
