Jeff Burton Leads Childress Sweep at Bristol

Sunday March 16, 2008
Bristol Motor Speedway is one of the few tracks on the schedule that consistently sells out every single race. Today the tight half-mile speedway demonstrated why.

Much of the race was slow as the Joe Gibbs teammates dominated. However, Bristol has made its name on great finishes and today's race delivered. The final 15 laps saw three different leaders, an interesting pit strategy play, some Bristol beating and banging and a green-white-checkers overtime finish that saw the lead change hands.

Congratulations to Richard Childress for sweeping the top three spots as Jeff Burton, Kevin Harvick and Clint Bowyer finished 1-2-3 in a classic Bristol finish.

After the Brat Harvick pull another one of his NO RESPECT stunts on Sunday, he once again proves he is not a person I would be interested in rooting for. He had room on the inside to make the pass.
It would be to bad if he happens to be in the wall at Martinsville in 2 weeks!
Congratulations Jeff B.

Like we discussed earlier in the year, it is shaping up to be a very good season.
As for Harvick running into Stewart, I do not think it was intentional. Knowing the relationship those two have, it was a racing deal.

AT THE VERY LEAST IT WAS A MEETING OF FENDERS, BUT I BLAME STEWART MORE THAN HARVICK, HE DRIVES LIKE HE IS THE ONLY ONE ON THE TRACK. THIS IS THE SECOND OR THIRD TIME HE HAS LED A LOT OF LAPS AT BRISTOL ONLY TO GO DOWN IN FLAMES BECAUSE OF HIS OVERLY AGGRESIVE DRIVING.

Hey Mustang65, Were you watching the same race as the rest of us or is your reception so poor you couldn’t see clearly? It wasn’t Stewart’s fault. Harvick was racing hard trying to pass Stewart, and he just got into the turn too hard. Sad though, If he had just waited another straight away, he could have passed him without causing a wreck.

Hey Mustang65, even Harvic admitted it was he that went into the cornner to fast & slid up into Smoke. It looked to me that he had plenty of room to pass, but as in most cases with race drivers, he too was in to big of a hurry to take the win which was a good thing for J.B.!!

Stats speak for themselves. There have been quite a few instances where Stewart has lead the most laps,or been the class of the field, and didnt seal the deal. One reason that he is one of the very best drivers ever to be in motorsports is his passion, and impatience to make things happen. He said on radio it was his fault,Harvicks comment came before he saw the whole replay, they seemed to be having a good time tearing off Tonys backhair.

I wish everyone a safe and peaceful Easter, and look forward to a great race on Sunday. To anyone suffering because of the flooding in Missouri,I hope that you can persevere, and that your lives can get back to normal as soon as possible, from your friends in North Carolina.
