NASCAR Drivers Sweep Top Three in Rolex 24 at Daytona
Two time Sprint Cup Champion Jimmie Johnson was part of the team that finished in second place. 2004 Cup series Champ Kurt Busch's team finished third.
This race is a nice diversion for the Sprint Cup drivers as everyone is waiting impatiently for Daytona SpeedWeeks to kick off in February. We are just a couple of weeks away from the Budweiser Shootout and qualifying for the historic 50th running of the Daytona 500. SPEEDtv.com has the full story on the Rolex 24 at Daytona.

If it ain’t REAL Nascar, Forget it.
Jimmie Johnson is NOT a Sprint Cup Champion. He is a Nextel Cup Champion. Jeff Gordon is a Winston Cup Champion. Are these new sponsors so vain that they can’t tell it like it is. By the way, Carl Edwards is a Busch series Champion, not a Nationwide series Champion.
I also noticed that you refer to Jimmie Johnson as a 2 time Sprint Cup Champion and only refer to Kurt Busch as the 2004 series Champion, why is that? Does he not deserve a sponsor name for the series.?
Steve, your article of What is NASCAR? under First Things First, you list the three top series under the NASCAR banner are 1. Sprint Cup Series, 2 Busch Series, 3 Craftsman Truck Series. Number 2 is Nationwide series, not Busch Series.
Hi Bob, thanks for stopping by. Actually according to NASCAR Jimmie Johnson is the two-time Sprint Cup Champion. Dale Earnhardt Sr. is a seven-time Sprint Cup Champion. I don’t make the rules.
As to why I included Sprint Cup in describing one champ and not the other I simply did that to mix up the language a little. I try not to repeat the same phrases over and over.
And as for the remaining Busch reference. Thanks for pointing that out. I have fixed the majority of the NEXTEL phrases but I am still finding Busch references.
A straight search and replace doesn’t work because Kurt and Kyle are not the Nationwide brothers.
