What Should Buschwhackers Be Called Now?

Thursday December 13, 2007
Since the former Busch Series is now called the Nationwide Series what do we call the Sprint Cup drivers that drop down to race with them? Nationwidewhackers just doesn't have the same ring to it.

Should we call them Nationwide Travellers? Slow Sprinters? We need a new name for these guys. Do you have any catchy suggestions?

I am sorry to say but I just can’t see how Carl Edward and Childress can be proud of the awards they got.Edwards is a nextel cup driver and should have been better than the busch driver.Childers should have a better car more money and a nextel cup driver so where is the compition in the busch series.Nascar really need to look at this series as Edwards says he is going to run all the races next year.Guess I will just watch something else.Either give the busch boys regulars some advanage or no points for the nextel cup drivers.Let’s crown a real busch driver and car owner next year.

I think that what ever points they receive from the national series should be deducted from the sprint series points they receive. Or just not let any driver receive points from two race classes. If you receive sprint cup points then you can’t receive points fron the national series.

(75) Norm says:

I have only been watching since Dale’s big wreck. I have never understood why a driver should be allowed to drive in both cups. Edwards and all the others that drive on a regular basis in THE CUP, should not be allowed in there. Don’t remember who said it earlier, but, I say let the ones that are trying to learn race. THE CUP drivers should stay there, and not in Nationwide’s Cup, unless, like someone suggested, if they are only racing a couple CUP races, then they should be allowed in Nationwide, but, if they are on a full CUP schedule, should not be allowed to drive in it. I don’t watch the Busch/Nationwide races because of them allowing CUP racers in. If they stop allowing CUP racers in, I would probably watch the little series as well. But, unless/until that happens, I won’t be watching the little series. THE CUP racers are just plain “GREEDY”!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

December 14, 2007 at 2:01 pm
(82) debbie normandin says:

t.n.s. traveling national sprinters and yes no pointds just expreince cause the new guys coming up to the cup guys someday deserve to be winner’s in more ways then one and have the wins and the points to help them in there carrers as our next WINSTON cups guys did back in the day. and it should be called NASCAR STARS OF THE OVALS OR GO BACK to the old GRAND NATIONAL NAME. STOP CAHGING NAMES LIKE THEY CAHNGE DRIVERS. GO JR GO.ALWAYS AND EARNHARDT FAN.

how about cowards-they have limited success with the big boys so they have to race against the new boys with less experience to get a win and boost their egos back up. stay in nextel and let the new kids develop and mature unless they are just worried about more competition in the future.

December 15, 2007 at 11:40 am
(89) Shane says:

I would call the “SPRINT CUP DRIVER’S”, that race in the Nationwide Series. Field-Fillers, because without the cup guys. The Nationwide Series would not have enough drivers. To fill all positions needed to run on Saturdays.

December 15, 2007 at 5:26 pm
(90) Thomas E. Langoni says:

Seeing that they want to take the wind out of the sails of the rookies with out any thoughts for what they are doing. They seem to have no idea that the Bush series was set up for the beginners. Lets’ just call them the “Low Self-Esteemer”. They aren’t making it with the big boys, so let them make it with the rookies.

December 15, 2007 at 8:56 pm
(91) Camper says:

Do these Cup drivers think that they made a big accomplishment when they win a cup race/ They are racing some of their own Cup drivers but what chance has a Busch driver got against a Cup drive? Busch drivers won a total of two races last year. Do you ever wonder why there aren’t more regular Busch teams. Who in their right mind would put a team in Busch races without even a chance of winning. Granted, the drivers get some experience but very little of the pot. Most of the money goes to the Cup drivers. I guarantee that there would be more drivers in the Busch series if the cup drivers was limited to perhaps 10 cars. How can the Busch series develope more teams when the Cup drivers are taking all of the money. I for one even watch the Busch races for this reason.

Nationwide Insurance covers not only automobiles but health and homes too. So whenever lives in a home where they don’t pay the bills, they are called “SQUATTERS!” So that is what they are.
