What Should Buschwhackers Be Called Now?
Thursday December 13, 2007
Since the former Busch Series is now called the Nationwide Series what do we call the Sprint Cup drivers that drop down to race with them? Nationwidewhackers just doesn't have the same ring to it.
Should we call them Nationwide Travellers? Slow Sprinters? We need a new name for these guys. Do you have any catchy suggestions?

Comments
Cradle Robbers?
Nation Wisecrackers or Nationwide Stackers or ever Nationwide Slackers
Wisecrackers
Call them the cookie cutters
I would go with “TV ratings insurance”
I am sorry to say but I just can’t see how Carl Edward and Childress can be proud of the awards they got.Edwards is a nextel cup driver and should have been better than the busch driver.Childers should have a better car more money and a nextel cup driver so where is the compition in the busch series.Nascar really need to look at this series as Edwards says he is going to run all the races next year.Guess I will just watch something else.Either give the busch boys regulars some advanage or no points for the nextel cup drivers.Let’s crown a real busch driver and car owner next year.
Insurance Scammers
how ’bout “insurance frauders”
How about onyoursidewinders?
How about we call them wide haulers?
How about, “not welcome”?
Call them Sprint Sprouters…anyone with a child/grandchild would see the connection – fully grown from an insignificant start…
My wife says to call the Cup drivers who wish to race in the number 2 series what they are. Sidewinders. Like the Snake! They attack the uneducated. Let the young Kids learn and grow.
The Uninsured
Greedy Cups
Natwacker
Being they shouldn’t get points for this series How about the “Non Pointers”–If they continue to get points this messes up the point count(or tally) so we could call them the “Tally Wackers”
Kick the Cup drivers out of the series….Period!! I like racing & used to watch Busch, but haven’t for years.
they should be called “nomads”
Nationwide Invaders
I like: Whack Nation….or maybe Wide Whackers. Whatever you call it….Whack the Whackers! Are the Whackers so unsure of their performance in the Cup series they have to fall back a series to compete?? Keep cup drivers on their side of the fence. Let the Busch Kids race to be Cup Drivers. Nationwide today….maybe Mickey Mouse or Pluto Series tomorrow!
Call them The Confederacy.
how does widewhackers sound?????????
call then racing wreckers
On Your Side Ringers
Oh Yeah,How Ironic is it to come full circle.
From a Beer to a Crash Sponser:)
Oh Yeah 1-877-On Your Side for a free Quote!
Happy Holidays!
How about, “Kup Kids Racing Learnings Make Benefit for Glorious Nation of Nascar”
Well…?
They should be called “we should not be here.” Run in the Cup, and stay there.
The guys with class like Jeff Gordon does not run in the Bush races.
Nationales!!!! Viva la revolutione!!!!
here’s a good one…RACERS, its what they love to do and thats why they run the Nationwide races and Nextel Cup races
I think it should be the Sprint Stalkers.
How about Insurancefrauders
how about Insurancefrauders.
I believe that the cup drivers should stay out of the Nationwide Series unless they are a developing driver with a limited Cup schedule.
Maybe ” Cup Carousers ” is that spelled right?
Insurance fraud
Nationwide Bandits ………Since they always run away with the prize money !!and championship .
the sippie cuppers
sippie cuppers
How about the Insurance Wreckers
Greedy sounds good!
I think that what ever points they receive from the national series should be deducted from the sprint series points they receive. Or just not let any driver receive points from two race classes. If you receive sprint cup points then you can’t receive points fron the national series.
WindowWackers, Nationwides Symbol is a Window
Wishwackers, wishin they can win!!!!
I think they should only race half the season to give other drivers a chance. sign, nascarbaby!
Wishwackers, they wish they can win.
I think they should only race half the season.Give other driver a chance.Earn there way to the cup’
Jeff Gordon does not race in the Buch seriers. He has class!!!He is better then that! & faster too!
Give the purse and points to the first nationwide car to take the checkered flag. Also send the nationwide car and driver to the winners circle.
“Sprint Ringers”
From “road coarse ringers”
and sprint phone rings
Nat Wids!
I like Russ’ suggestion:
Nat Wackers! Good one Russ!
Call them history cause I’m done with Nascar and the ‘other’ series !!!
How about Nation Builders?
Nationwiders
yes
How about Wide Whackers?
“Nationwide is on your side” is the companys slogan so how about calling the Busch wackers the side winders.
One more:
Carpet baggers
If they were named the “Nationwide whackers”, it might keep them from wanting to run in the series in the 1st place… thus making some people happy. The name sounds like a good high school locker room joke.
Call it what it is wanters and needers of more practice
We should call them what they are greedy.
How about “NATwackers”?
Nationwhackers
It would be nice if we could just call them “Spectators”. LEAVE THE NATIONWIDE SERIES TO THE NATIONWIDE REGULARS.
Just call them what they are…SAND BAGGERS!
Non Pointers, because they shouldn’t get points plus maybe they need Viagra
I like Martin’s comment about “Tally Wackers” of course I remember what part of a man was called a tallywacker
Nationettes.
In responce to what should bushwackers be called now, insurance(claim jumpers)
dirt dog outlaws
nation crashers
its easy
the CUPWACKERS
I’m with #60, Derrick! Good one. Call ‘em “Spectators.” Booyeah!!!
Sidewinders was pretty good, too.
They shouldn’t slither between all the series.
Nationals
I would call them the “Off Limiters”. They have no right to get the “little guys” pushed out of winning. Let the big boys play with the big boys and leave the kids to themselves. The deserve to win and are working hard at it.
Nationwilders
Crack Heads!!
Or with the seniors thing now ya got wanna bees and useto bees
“Pointless” or just “Greedy”.
Half the winnings of all Cup entrants in Bush/Grand National races should go into the point fund for distribution to the non Cup drivers.
Oltopper
I have only been watching since Dale’s big wreck. I have never understood why a driver should be allowed to drive in both cups. Edwards and all the others that drive on a regular basis in THE CUP, should not be allowed in there. Don’t remember who said it earlier, but, I say let the ones that are trying to learn race. THE CUP drivers should stay there, and not in Nationwide’s Cup, unless, like someone suggested, if they are only racing a couple CUP races, then they should be allowed in Nationwide, but, if they are on a full CUP schedule, should not be allowed to drive in it. I don’t watch the Busch/Nationwide races because of them allowing CUP racers in. If they stop allowing CUP racers in, I would probably watch the little series as well. But, unless/until that happens, I won’t be watching the little series. THE CUP racers are just plain “GREEDY”!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
How about “Double Dippers?”
Sidewinders works for me. Yes I do believe they should not be allowed to earn points and the number should be limited to maybe 10!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ungreatful.
NFL, NBA, MLB and NHL players arn’t allowed to go to their college or minor league teams and play?
Why should Cup driver be allowed to.
I would think “half dialed”would be some what close to sarcasticly true. Sprint is a wireless cel-phone outfit and the fellas just want to dial themselves in as good as they can with every chance possible …A? Then again we wil just have to do this again anyway. Mardo.
I like nationwackers, or nationhackers
why do people want to call names they just like to race as much as they can the full time drivers in the lower class should like raceing with them they will get better from racing with them i mean think about it do you get mad when they come to the local tracks to race no so why get upset when they race here it is the same thing well good day all and cup drivers just have fun racing in what ever class you are in
t.n.s. traveling national sprinters and yes no pointds just expreince cause the new guys coming up to the cup guys someday deserve to be winner’s in more ways then one and have the wins and the points to help them in there carrers as our next WINSTON cups guys did back in the day. and it should be called NASCAR STARS OF THE OVALS OR GO BACK to the old GRAND NATIONAL NAME. STOP CAHGING NAMES LIKE THEY CAHNGE DRIVERS. GO JR GO.ALWAYS AND EARNHARDT FAN.
I agree with most that the Cup guys should not be given points in the nationwide series, but since they are and they mess up the “tally” for the rest of them, it just has to be Tallywackers!
How about “Cup Crusaders”
Bullies!
how about just CUP WHACKERS.
or mabe WANNABE WHACKERS
how about cowards-they have limited success with the big boys so they have to race against the new boys with less experience to get a win and boost their egos back up. stay in nextel and let the new kids develop and mature unless they are just worried about more competition in the future.
I would call the “SPRINT CUP DRIVER’S”, that race in the Nationwide Series. Field-Fillers, because without the cup guys. The Nationwide Series would not have enough drivers. To fill all positions needed to run on Saturdays.
Seeing that they want to take the wind out of the sails of the rookies with out any thoughts for what they are doing. They seem to have no idea that the Bush series was set up for the beginners. Lets’ just call them the “Low Self-Esteemer”. They aren’t making it with the big boys, so let them make it with the rookies.
Do these Cup drivers think that they made a big accomplishment when they win a cup race/ They are racing some of their own Cup drivers but what chance has a Busch driver got against a Cup drive? Busch drivers won a total of two races last year. Do you ever wonder why there aren’t more regular Busch teams. Who in their right mind would put a team in Busch races without even a chance of winning. Granted, the drivers get some experience but very little of the pot. Most of the money goes to the Cup drivers. I guarantee that there would be more drivers in the Busch series if the cup drivers was limited to perhaps 10 cars. How can the Busch series develope more teams when the Cup drivers are taking all of the money. I for one even watch the Busch races for this reason.
how about “The Sprint Swappers” nice ring to it huh!
Nationwide Insurance covers not only automobiles but health and homes too. So whenever lives in a home where they don’t pay the bills, they are called “SQUATTERS!” So that is what they are.
