2007 Allstate 400 At The Brickyard Preview

Thursday July 26, 2007
2007 Allstate 400 at The BrickyardThis Sunday afternoon the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup stars will take over the world-famous Indianapolis Motor Speedway for 400 miles of racing. This week's race carries a huge payout for the winning team. Also, the hype surrounding this event brings more prestige and fame for the winning driver. This makes the Allstate 400 at the Brickyard one of those special races on the schedule that the teams try just a little bit harder to win.

I made my predictions. Who do you pick to win this weekend's Brickyard 400?

I think its gonna be Dale Jr’s turn around race. He’s due for a win and what better place then Bricktown. Everyone has counted him out but I think everyone will be shocked cause he will be in victory lane Sunday.

(2) Kathy says:

I happen to agree with Tina. Almost everyone has counted Dale, Jr. out for the season due to all the changes. But I honestly believe everyone is in for a MAJOR surprise from Dale, Jr.
GO DALE EARNHARDT, JR. #8!!!!!!

Tina & Kathy,

For my fantasy racing’s sake…I hope you are right! Look for J.J., Gordon, and Tony to do well. I’m finally putting some money where my mouth is on Mr. Bowyer. Dont let me down Clint!

As always..Get ‘em Bobby!

(4) David fro Georgia says:

I agree with #3 comment, Jr. is going to leave in style. I look for Jr, Gordon, and Stewart to finish top three, which ever crosses the bricks first is a toss up.

(5) Brian says:

Ooh, that’s a tough one. Tony’s my top pick. I’m not so sure about Jr. I’m afraid he might be trying too hard to prove all the predictions wrong…while I’d love to see him do it…I don’t see it happening this time.

As much as I’d like to see Tony win, I’m gonna go out on a limb and say that we will have a new face in victory lane this week. I think Kasey is due.

(8) Leanna says:

I see Jeff Gordon, Jimmy,& Jr in front. Who wins is a toss up. I wish them all well. Jeff is a great driver and a good Dad. Ella is so cute.

Well Dale Jr leaves and now DEI and Ginn hook up to make yet another SUPER TEAM .The little fish cant even go to the busch pond because the big fish eat there as well !!

Much as I’d LOVE to see Kahne take the trophy and kiss the brick, it’s one heckova long shot. Seems like Gordon or Stewart have the best history for wins at Indy. I’d put my $$ on one of them.
And I’m on the Junior bandwagon … would LOVE to see him win. Even over Kahne. Just this once.

Well I don’t know who will win at the spend alot of money but can’t see the race on Sunday. But I do know who won the Gump award for comments-It’s # 9 Le* Z.

(12) Leo Z says:

Well # 11 Ha .Maybe if you kept up on your Nascar news ,you would see that its becoming less about the driver and more about monopolizing .Its a free world but soon we can all watch only a hand full of teams on the track and then see how many fans you have lift !!

(13) ha says:

Well #12 I have kept up with nascar news including today’s announcement of Yates team merger with Newman, haas, and a businessman. It was only matter of time for this to happen for all of these teams, and it won’t be the last of it, or teams will fold in a few years. It was written on the wall. Nascar is the only one to thank about for this to happen. It got so expensive to have a team now days For the HIGH $$$$’s the drivers demand (oh do not forget they would drive free, because they love it so much) and nascar changed the rules so much, and got away from the basic of nascar. If they go back and use the car styling aero specs from the factory cars, heck with the wind tunnel stuff. In other words if a team going to use Impala’s the specs the factory has for it for the consumer then so be it for the race car. BUT, use the rules for safety of the driver of today’s cars that’s a given, then and maybe it may bring the cost down some. Before you say it and use the race engines. Most teams use other team’s engines anyway.

Well said #12Ha.I couldn’t agree more ! They do know how to market but will it soon become their downfall .Time will tell but as for me i still love the underdogs in the sport .

(15) Leo Z says:

I meant # 13 .one thing about writing on here ,I need to always check my type o’s before hitting send ! lol. One more thing I think Kurt Busch will take the 400 ,its his time for a win ..

Well a few hours ago I would have said that Kasey Kahne was a long shot. Now I found out that Evernham Motor Sports has reverted back to the 2006 cars and notebooks. All 3 EMS cars are the same this weekend as opposed to the first half of 07. Statistically the winner of the Brickyard has been a top 12 pointsitter. But maybe K.K. can pull it off. However (again statistically) Matt has the very best record at Brickyard, even though he has never won there. I think Matt will win!!! HMS will be in the top 10 (all 4 HMS cars)

I know the track is very FAN UNFRIENDLY, Ive seen a INDY 500 before live. However these tickets I have was free, turn 1, and the first live race Ive seen in 25 years. Im stoked. Hope Kasey wins. Would enjoy seeing Tony, Matt, Mark, Jamie, or Jr. win. But will stand and cheer regardless of who wins.

I agree, Jr. is way over due and there’s nothing I’d like better than to see him in the winners circle at the brickyard. I’m also betting that DEI is going to be sorry they didn’t do more to keep him. Gooooooooo Jr. !!

(21) Leanna says:

Lauren it will be on ESPN and the time will different depending on where you are. I do not like ESPN but we have no choice. Their announcer are hard to hear for me. I want my good announcers back. DW please come back to us, we need you. Go Jeff, Jimmy, and Jr. of couse.

(24) Lauren says:

Hay, Everyone! Guess what? My husband and I are going to get cable! Haven’t had cable in my life for almost 10 years now. So can’t wait to see what I have been missing. Go Dale, Go Tony! Either one, I’ll be Happy!

(25) BWeberSux says:

I think it is funny that Jr. fans all say he is due for a win. I think Jr. ranks with Sterling Marling which I mean in no disrespectful way to Marlin. To see a driver with so much hype perform so mediocre is strange. About as much hype for Danica Patrick who really has not done much for in that racing sector. Jr. may have some wins but, ultimately, he will not win at the Brickyard this Sunday.

I want to see Mears win but I know that in reality, it will be another HMS driver to kiss the bricks.
