Denny Hamlin Holds Off Jeff Gordon For NHIS Win
Sunday July 1, 2007
Today's 2007 LENOX Industrial Tools 300 in New Hampshire was won with a great strategic call by Denny Hamlin's team. Hamlin took two tires on the final pit stop and beat everyone off of pit road. Hamlin lead the final fifty laps after that two tire stop for the win. Jeff Gordon made a run at the end but came up just .068 seconds short at the finish. Hamlin beat Gordon to the line by less than one car length as the Car of Tomorrow once again provided a great NASCAR finish.

Great Drive for Denny ! As for Jeff Gordon what a gentleman on that last lap .Im sure he could of spun Denny but at this moment he doesn’t need any bad press .All in all a good race.
It was a good race and I was sure hoping Jeff would pass Denny but he was so good and didn’t send him off. That was so great of the good driver.
OK this is the way it is RIGHT???? When Jeff wins it is because he is just that great. When ANYONE else wins, it is because Jeff has layed back and literally ALLOWED it. (and some of you all thought it was NASCAR who fixed the races) in reality it is the #24 that decides the complete outcome! RIGHT?
It was so good of Jeff not to send Denny off. Give me a break. Reality check here!!, if Jeff did bump Denny off or out to take the win, he would have been knee deep in beer and beer cans
Here we go again with Jeff Gordon bashing. To those who love Dale, Jr., me included, remember Dale helped Hendricks earlier this year and looks at Jeff as a mentor and future team mate. Any bashing, along with psychoanaylsis, needs to go to Theresa for letting Dale, Jr. get away from DEI.
Denny has been very close this year and it was only a matter of time before he notched a win. Denny is that good. He was the better driver. Not anything to do with Gordon not spinning him or Gordon letting him win.
On to Daytona for what could be the last COY (car of yesterday) last restrictor plate race.
I would like to see more racing and less commercials. It was two minutes of racing then two minutes of commercials. Do they do this in baseball or football? Don’t think so.
Vickie, they had the commercials to break up the long boring green runs in NH. COngrats to Denny, but the race was pretty lack luster in my opinion. I thought the F1 race earlier on Fox was more exciting this week.New Hampshire never produces very exciting races as far as I can remember.
Finally I found out who won. I turned it off when there were more commercials than racing.
I agree with Vickie. There are way too many commercials in NASCAR. Maybe some get bored with the race but they are the ones that watch only to see the wrecks.
You don’t see all those commercials in other sports.
Good for Denny and the fedex team. He didn’t have anything to whine about. It’s poor Carl’s turn instead. Guess he ought to talk to Kasey Kahne — he’s BTDT falling off the jack thing. As for TNT race coverage, they only have two more, then ABC takes over for the rest of the year. Here’s to hopin’ for less commercials. Cheers! Daytona’s comin’ up!!
1969rs wasen’t Denny driving as much as crew cheif’s call on 2 tires and then there was truex holding up JG one turn to meny
way to many commercials ESPN IS NEEDED
Also wounder why sponcers would want to watch commercials about there stuff when there all over the cars uhmmmmmmmm note to sponcers your paying for the cars don’t let the networks charge you again for commercials that NONE OF US FANS WANT TO SEE Let the cars on the track sell your product( if your cars not doing well give them the money to go faster in devalipment or cheeting as some of you call it ) NO MORE COMERCIALS.
Next Race as follows and little debby riding around in the 18 spot Ithink he’s eating a dubblefudge meanwhle JR’s opened up a bud and on his way to the front chaseing Jeff Gorden who seems to had put up a tyvac bareriar made by dupont as jimmy johnson stop of at lowes to get more power from his sponcer in the form of colbolt tools for chad to make improvements (cheat for some of you) to his car while Tony gets a gallon of paint @homedepo to paint the fence Bobby ran the cheerios dodge into it meanwhile back @ the office depo carl stop to print up some papers 4someone to joe gibbs racing get back in the race carl. Oh and fixen up the pass in the grass ruts is dave blany in the catapiller dodge ECT that could be good commetrcials without losing any race coverage LOL
Ron – good point, seriously they could focus on the car of the sponsor for a commercial with either the booth guys reading the copy or have a voice over but, you would not lose track of the race
Steve I’ve got a ?? will there be resticor plates on the new brick cots?
PS also let the networks Know about my ideas on commercials
Well I enjoy reading your comments here and its nice to see we can all get along and still be fans. I am however done till TNT finishes their coverage! I will tivo the Direct TV Hotpass coverage and fast forward through the Wally “I have no clue what I’m talking about, Never was anything but an also ran” Dallenbech and The other guy they replaced Allen Bestwick with. I cannot stand the poor non funny raport and the endless commercials. Nascar once again continues to allow money to get in the way of what makes Nascar the greatest sport out there, “THE FANS” I will still look forward to scanning the comments on here. bye till then!
Steve does any of the NASCAR big wigs looks at these comments?
HOWDY ALL!!! Hey Steve (or anyone for that matter)! Does anyone know anything about the #5 car being too low at NH? And I think the #25 was too low also. Anyway if you all hear something please let me know. CONGRATS DENNY!!!! GO KASEY
Why don’t you all try recording the race, then you don’t have to watch the commercials? I record them on a DVD recorder with a ram disk. You can watch the race while it’s recording.
I had oppertunity to watch the replay today of New Hampshire and if you dont think Jeff was trying to spin denny out your wrong He was trying to not get caught spinning Denny out if you watch between turn four and the checker on the last lap Jeff gets Denny sideways and up toward the wall he just didn’t get him into the wall so he could pass mission not accomplished. better luck next time Jeffy
