Dale Earnhardt Jr. To Drive For Hendrick Motorsports

Wednesday June 13, 2007
Dale Earnhardt Jr. announced today that he has signed a five-year contract to drive for Hendrick Motorsports beginning with the 2008 NEXTEL Cup season. The marriage of NASCAR's most popular driver and NASCAR's most successful team is big news for the sport. Expectations are high and the pressure is on for Rick Hendrick to provide winning equipment and for Junior to do his part in the driver's seat to get to Victory Lane.

The car number, sponsor and color scheme are not decided yet. Dale Jr. suggested that he would like to remain in the #8 car. However that number is owned by Dale's step-mother Theresa Earnhardt. It would be her decision to allow Jr. to take the #8 with him. There was no announcement from Budweiser as to their plans for 2008. Junior said that he will have input into the look of the car to ensure that it will "look cool."

(2) jason says:

I think it’s a good move for Jr. I will still be an Earnhardt fan, & still want to see him drive past Gordon & Johnson.

(3) Ryan says:

This sucks!!!!! JR will loose many fans with this move, because so many people hate his new team. I now hope he crashes with the 24, and 48 every race. JR you lost a fan

June 13, 2007 at 12:08 pm
(4) Tzeitel says:

I wonder how many cans are going to be thrown at his new team mates now? I hope the Jr fans will listen to him when he asks them to behave themselves (again)!

(5) Fred says:

I would have preferred to see Dale go with Gibbs Racing but there is something to be said for following in your fathers’ foot steps. Good luck Dale

June 13, 2007 at 12:12 pm
(6) Tzeitel says:

Ryan…that is exactly what I would expect from a non race fan! Who in the world would wish wrecks? If you were a true race fan, a true Jr fan, you would be happy that he made a decision to go to a team that truly values its drivers & puts the money behind the talk to back it up. I would think it would make you happy at the prospect of seeing him in Victory circle on a semi regular basis.

June 13, 2007 at 12:14 pm
(7) Gordon24Fans says:

This is a great move for Dale Jr. If anyone is a true fan of his, they would want to see him happy no matter what team he drives for. That’s whats important here. On this team he can become his own person as a driver!!!!!!

June 13, 2007 at 12:17 pm
(8) Russ says:

I was kind of thinking he’d go over to a Toyota.

June 13, 2007 at 12:20 pm
(9) Russ says:

Bottom line – he knows which team to pick to give him the best chance of winning. Could be worse, see my above listing….

(10) Nancy says:

Good for you Dale,Jr. So sorry you
couldn’t carry on with your Dad’s business, but I know in his heart you
are doing what is best for you. Keep up
the good work, Your Dad would be so proud of, just like your millions of fans. GOD BE WITH YOU ALWAYS.

June 13, 2007 at 12:29 pm
(11) vosa says:

Tzeitel I agree with you completely.

Since Jr. now has a home, one that he seems happy with, why would you as a so called “fan” of his Ryan, change your mind and decide he is no longer worth it.

HMS is a great team. Yeah they’ve had tons of luck on their side so far this season, big deal. When the shoe was on the other foot I was still a fan. Ryan, if your ideal of loyalty is to be there as long as thing so the way you want them to, then turn your back when they don’t, I’m sure all REAL Jr. fans are not heart broken to see you go.

June 13, 2007 at 12:50 pm
(12) TLabonte Fan says:

Very interesting to see Jr. in Terry’s old ride. Who will his fans throw trash and beer cans at now? How are the Jr. fan base Gordon haters going to handle this? If Jr. wins with HMS will it be a team conspiracy w/ NASCAR? This is going to be a lot of fun to watch the trash throwing, insult flying, beer can chunking crowd, wriggle and twist!

For serious race fans…..this is good for Jr. HMS will be a dominating team. All the other teams have got to be terrified of a Jr., JJ. JG. line up!
If Mears keeps up the good work everybody else might be in real trouble.

My prediction, Jr. wins a lot more frequently, and will get his championship in the near future.

June 13, 2007 at 12:54 pm
(13) Nick says:

Well Ryan he gain a fan here pimpin. Teresa do not be a punk and give up that number, but JR back in the 8 Bud car with Hendrick. JR, Gordon and Johnson 1,2,3 finish and drafting partners at Daytona, man I get chills thinking about it. SR. mentored Jeff into what he is today, Jeff has already turned Jimmie into a champion, JR now it is your turn. If he gets the 8, but let the car be black all year with HMS on the side, DO WORK!

June 13, 2007 at 1:14 pm
(14) Rick S. says:

I think this is great. Now maybe Junior’s Oakland Raider type fans will lighten up on Jeff Gordon. Maybe this will put an end to the drunken idiot behavior that happens when Gordon wins a race in places like Talladega. Junior will now be in the best equipment available and bay far be in the best position to when a championship in the near future. The guy is 32 years old! He had to get serious and get with a good team to meet his goals. Did not look like that was going to happen at DEI. On the other side of the coin now I feel Hendrick will by far be the most dominate team in NASCAR. This we did not need….

June 13, 2007 at 1:20 pm
(15) Karen says:

Ryan is way out of line if he is really a JR fan. Every JR fan should be happy he is going to a group wonderfuld people who realy care about the drivers and their family and keeping the cars in good shape with all the lastest things possible. I am a Gordon fan all the way and we, my husband and I, are glad to have JR aboard the HMS team.

June 13, 2007 at 1:23 pm
(16) Daisy Duke says:

I have been a JR fan from his first race now we will get the oppertunity to see what kind of driver he really is,he will have the best of the best in terms of cars and equipment if he don’t win it is all on him!!!!!!!!

June 13, 2007 at 1:27 pm
(17) Jayhawker94 says:

Now the second best thing for Jr. would be if a few more race fan losers like Ryan would find another sport to watch. I really think he (Jr) would be ashamed to say these idiots are his fans.

June 13, 2007 at 1:33 pm
(18) Nicole says:

Look this has nothing to do with Jr’s fans hating, or liking Gordon. Jr’s fans will probably still hate Gordon and that’s okay. I find myself not liking drivers who win alot if it’s not the driver I route for. I think Jr will get his opportunity to win alot, and be hated by other drivers fans.

June 13, 2007 at 1:50 pm
(19) Just Me says:

Congrats Jr. for going with the team that can get you your championship you want. I believe that HMS is going to be the most hated team out there, now they will have the best of the best. Yeah for HMS.

June 13, 2007 at 1:56 pm
(20) Twisterdad says:

congrat to JR. I am a big fan of Gordons, and now I have another favorite I can root for in the same team!!!!!!!!!! Go Dale & Jeff!!!

June 13, 2007 at 1:56 pm
(21) Brandonjames8 says:

First of tzeitel alot of die hard race fans love to see wrecks, that was a general and stupid argument. second of all if mr dynasty was such a good guy why did he lie “no room at the inn” & “I consider kyle to be like a son” one car owner having a dynasty like this is NOT GOOD for nascar. Richard C. is a true genuine guy and with the engine merger would of given Jr. just as good of equipment. Like it or not reality is a huge portion of Jr. fans (the old red nation) will hate him selling out and teamming up w/Gordon and no personality Johnson. He will really be foolish if he makes this even worse and does not get Nascar involved for control of #8 (they have the final say not the witch Theresa) which was his granddads on his fathers (blood side) and take Bud with him leaving the red nation red.

June 13, 2007 at 1:58 pm
(22) msmisty says:

I think this is a great move! Now Jr will have a team behind him that will help him win. Good luck Dale!!

June 13, 2007 at 2:03 pm
(23) Rick S. says:

So what is to become of wreck less Kyle Busch? Anybody know??
And a comment for “just me” Obviously with Jr. a part of the team HMS organization it will bring them more fans. It will also make many HMS haters more accepting of the organization once Jr. wins a championship.

June 13, 2007 at 2:03 pm
(24) BIGBOBSR says:

When I was in grade school(third grade I think)therre was a big bully that I thought I hated. After I grew up I realized that I was to mature to really hate anyone.I think that after so called fans of Nascar grow up they”ll find that hating anyone they don’t even know is really stupid. The so called Gordon haters don’t really hate him, their just jelouse because he’s one of the best Nascar drivers of all time. I was a great Dale Sr. fan and think he was one of the best, But Gordon still passed his record for wins in over 200 less races.Give it up bad sports and cry babys, maybe this is the best thing that could happen to Jr.Dont forget Jimmie J.passed Jr. up 6 or 7 races ago in a number of less races. Just shows what driving for a man who cares enough to provide his drivers with the best equipment and people money can by. P.S. I see where Rick H. just gave a collage 1,000,000.00 to build a new auto garage to train collage students in the automotive trade.Cool what you can do with money if you really care about people.

WOOHOO!!!
GREAT!!!

June 13, 2007 at 2:06 pm
(26) Brandonjames8 says:

I will still love Jr. please let me make that clear just very disappointed in his decision. I will always root for Jr. I think however this is bad for Nascar having a team be such a big dynasty. I also think that jr. and alot of rediculous fans need to realize that Jr. will always have this comparison and shadowing from his dad no matter where he goes, if he didnt want that he should of never got into racing. I beleive it is this fear of comaprisons that kept him away from RCR, and I think thats just rediculous for reasons already mentioned.

June 13, 2007 at 2:10 pm
(27) BIGBOBSR says:

By the way.it was kyle’s idea to leave Hendricks next year to explore other offers.

June 13, 2007 at 2:10 pm
(28) Gene says:

Now we will see if its the car or driver.I raced against his grandfather and knew his dad.

June 13, 2007 at 2:11 pm
(29) nascarfans24_9 says:

Ryan, why would you wish for anyone to wreck? If you were a TRUE Dale Jr. fan you would support him. I still do not see where people think Dale Sr. hated Jeff Gordon, they were competitors on the track yes, but off the track they were friends and business partners. Jeff and Dale Jr. are friends also so I think Dale Jr. made a good choice in going with HMS. I think anyone who watches to see a wreck or wishes a wreck should leave NASCAR alone and watch a demolition derby, but thats just my view.

June 13, 2007 at 2:18 pm
(30) 1969RS says:

Just as I thought, arm chair Jr. fans are pissed. The real fans of Dale Jr. are very proud of him.
It does not take a rocket scientist to figure out that when Jr. made is announcement a month ago that he was looking elsewhere, he was upset, disapointed, depressed, and a little lost.
If you saw the press conferance today, it was a completely different Jr. I have not seen that kind of fire in his eyes and excitement since he drove with his Dad. Listening to the stories that Jr. and Rick shared, there is a deeper relationship there than most realize.
I think Jr. was doing great when he was driving with his dad. He had that close relationship with his father guiding him. When Dale Sr. passed, it was a huge blow to Jr. It left a big gap in his life. Suddenly, he did not have that father figure in his life to guide him and mentor him. DEI tried with Tony Jr., but it just wasn’t there. Theresa is worlds apart from knowing how to mentor him. It was obvious he had reached his potential at DEI. Jr. wants to win, he wants to win now, and he wants a championship. That was not going to happen at DEI.
Rick Hendrick will provide that leadership, mentoring, and guidance he needs. He will not replace Dale Sr. as a father, but sure can come close to giving the guidance he needs.
Regarding Kyle, I think Rick gave him a chance, and Kyle thinks the grass is greener somewhere else. He will soon find out that he did not realize what he had when he had it. HMS is a top notch organization. There are very few that are at that level. Kyle is just like his older brother, they let egos get in the way of judgement. That is fine. It makes room for Dale Jr. and Rick Hendrick and the entire team will benifit from it. Glad to see Casey did not get moved out.
From a personal side, I hope Bud and #8 follow Jr. as I do not want to reinvest in Dale Jr. stuff. :-)

June 13, 2007 at 2:24 pm
(31) 9 fan says:

First of all someone mentioned that he should have went to Gibbs to follow in Dads footsteps. SR drove for Childress not Gibbs.
NOW JR & HMS, OK!!! I think that will work for a year or 2.
Personally I think Ginn Racing would have been the choice. 1= Look at Mark Martin, he sat out 3 or 4 races and is still up in points. That proves Ginn Racing has the stuff and a full time driver of JRs caliber would be in champion contention within a couple years. 2= I think going to HMS will gain him a few more fans and lose him a bunch of fans. ### Im just saying that reading these comments most people think there are ONLY 2 FANS—-GORDON or JR. It sounds like there cant be GORDON & JR. Well I say #BEST OF LUCK# to JR, Gordon, Jimmie, AND Mark Martin, Tony, (even Kurt & Kyle) and of course KASEY KAHNE. Lets not wish GLOOM and DOOM on anyone.

June 13, 2007 at 2:37 pm
(32) Tzeitel says:

In responce to Brandonjames8 first post – I don’t know of too many TRUE racing fans that wish harm on anyone – car owners or drivers. Most TRUE racing fans (look at F1, IRL, Cart, etc) would much rather see a green – checkers race. My responce was to a person that stated he was a Jr fan, only to turn around & wish him & his new team mates harm.

I am happy that Jr. has joined with HMS – as most seem to be. I think Jr will be achiving his goals quite soon. My guess is, this will be a long & happy marriage for Jr & HMS. Welcome aboard Jr! We’re looking for great things!

(33) Barry Kives says:

What a brilliant move!

Now, will we still be drinking Bud, next year?????

June 13, 2007 at 3:01 pm
(34) Brandonjames8 says:

Let me restate more clearly what I was saying. I don’t wish harm on anyone!! There is a huge difference between wrecks and physical harm 99.9 % of the time. Alot of fans love to see wrecks from the local dirt tracks all the way to nascar cup tracks….just like hockey fans love to see a good fight. Your opinion might differ from that but you would be in the minority. And I guess what you are saying is that I am not a true racing fan….because I don’t watch ANYTHING but Busch and Winston cup racing (sorry I meant Nextel) God I miss the good old days when raw emotion was allowed before the France family started to get greedy and too big for there britches and turn everything into big corporate big business everybody behave and be diplomatic, professional and politically correct. I cant stand open wheel f-1 or ant sport where there last names are hard to pronounce and they speak with a foreign accent.

(37) Ryan says:

Tzeitel, I never said I wished anyone harm, I said I hope they crash. My point is I hope the HMS cars finish 40, 41, 42,and 43 every week. I don’t want anyone to get hurt

Damn…. Looks like I just became a Tony Stewart fan. Can’t believe Jr actually crossed over to the “dark side”.

June 13, 2007 at 3:41 pm
(41) cravenfor#9 says:

It feels strange to think of Jr and Gordon as teammates, but this is NASCAR’s dream team, I suppose. HMS becomes this mega conglomeration, with a bottomless pit of $$$ to keep their drivers/teams in front. Wish he had gone anywhere else but HMS, but it’ll be interesting next year, that’s for sure.

June 13, 2007 at 3:43 pm
(42) Brandonjames8 says:

Ryan I understand what you are saying, although I disagree with your decision to not root for Jr. anymore. But give up on that tzeitel person, sounds like a left wing liberal minded, diplomatic person.

June 13, 2007 at 3:54 pm
(43) RAYMAN says:

DALE JR. WONT LOSE MANY FANS, HELL HE MAY GAIN SOME. THINK ABOUT IT. I WAS A LITTLE UPSET WHEN BOBBY LABONTE WENT OVER TO PETTY TO DRIVE A DODGE BUT GOT OVER IT, HE’S STILL MY DRIVER (SINCE 1996) AND ALWAYS WILL BE…YOU DALE JR FANS WILL GET OVER THIS TO. JUST THINK OF THE NEW STUFF OF DALE JRS. YOU CAN BUY NOW…

June 13, 2007 at 4:00 pm
(44) motocrossed says:

on the contrary, I do not think the other teams are going to worry and fret. I think the good teams are going to work harder and bring their best game to the track. I think HMS caught the other teams with their pants down this year and the other teams will not let that happen again. In fact, I think you will see a much more competitive 2nd half of the season. Dale jr. going to HMS will make everything that much more interesting. After his Bush years he has not produced that same level of winning, can he do it with HMS? If they told me Matt Kenseth was going to HMS I would be more concerned.

i think its great that jr picket hendricks it will be a great team with 3 top drivers

June 13, 2007 at 4:07 pm
(46) bulldog says:

Again what is a TRUE race fan? No one ever want to see anybody get hurt. However, seeing a wreck is just as much of racing as in winning. The person now don’t like JR because he went with hendricks never like jr anyway.

Why would any team be terrified of another team? Those teams should get their act together. Beer cans? They should be ban anyway, If the beer drinkers want to act like children, ban beer cans.

June 13, 2007 at 4:14 pm
(47) bulldog says:

David Briggs, I see you are one of those Fair Weather fan people are talking about. Pretty shallow don’t you think? Dark side? What is the Dark Side? Someone or something that have their stuff together?

June 13, 2007 at 4:39 pm
(48) numjk says:

I have never been a JR fan. Not because of his name, or his driving ability, but because of some of his fans attitude toward other drivers. Now that he will be driving for a real team, I’m sure I will root for him as much as I do for the other Hendrick drivers.
Having said that, has anyone else noticed the really bad spelling and grammar from a lot of JR fans on here? It’s no wonder so many people make fun of NASCAR fans.

June 13, 2007 at 4:40 pm
(49) TLabonte Fan says:

bulldog,

I mentioned throwing trash, AND beer cans. If all of the trash generators want to act like children should we ban trash?

June 13, 2007 at 4:41 pm
(50) GANN says:

I was hoping that he didn’t pick that team. I wish him the best!! A Jr fan, is a Jr fan it really shouldn’t matter where he goes. That don’t mean you have to like his teammates!!
That mean lady need to let him take that #8. She didn’t make that team!! I don’t like her.

June 13, 2007 at 4:57 pm
(51) bulldog says:

TLabonte Fan, Now what has the other people and the media been talking about? Beer cans! Just because you decided put the twist in about trash trying to cover up the problem that beer drinkers throw cans really don’t cut it. That’s why they make laws and rules because sometimes a few and times the many abuse. Ban cans. Put the beer in a cup if a person want a beer. Oh yea, Talking about children, you may not get your jollies in raising a cup instead of can when the camera is on you. does that make a person feel grown up showing everybody I have a beer?

I have never been an Earnhardt fan. I really disliked his fathers driving style. I have seen some programs about Jr. and I have been starting to appreciate his personnality and style. Now that he has signed with a team that consistantly wins and considers drivers an important part of the team, Jr stands a wonderful chance of winning alot of races. I will watch close and see. Good for Jr. Good for HMS. Really good for NASCAR.

June 13, 2007 at 7:37 pm
(56) buddy says:

Since Anheuser Busch is dropping sponsership of the AAA series, maybe Jr. sees Budweiser getting out of NASCAR. Do you think people drink Miller Lite because Kurt drives? NAPA still sells parts even though their car seldom makes the lineup. I say Jr. knows where the money trail leads.

June 13, 2007 at 8:00 pm
(57) willy says:

Bulldog, I was just responding to David Briggs comment about Jr. crossing to the dark side. I’m a big HMS fan and we’re GLAD to have him aboard. I just really enjoy reading some of these twisted comments. Sounds like today wasn’t a good day for you.

(64) Blackflag says:

I have lived in several states and have noticed most of the vehicles that have #8 stickers are Fords….maybe JR should have went to a Ford team?

At least he is joining with the best.

I also think that it is obvious that Junior is looking to win races and championships think in that position anyone would accept an offer from an organization that is 10 of 14 for the year. Junior hasn’t invited Me to dinner or out clubbing with him and I honestly don’t think he gives a crap if I am a Junior fan or not. oops (I think that was a run-on sentence please forgive me) So I would have rather seen him go to RCR, Ginn, or Gibbs. But guess what that’s not MY DECISION, I DON’T GET A SAY IN IT. I should note, however, I am OK with that I wouldn’t want most of you giving ME career advise. I wouldn’t choose an auto mechanic, doctor, or carpenter based on grammar and spelling. There happen to be a lot of professions that don’t use spell check to fix, build, or diagnose objects or problems. By the way if your auto mechanic uses spell check I would find out who actually fixed your car and go straight to them next time. Yeah, numjk I realize that I should have put together an outline in order to keep my thought’s slightly less random. I think any one willing to judge a persons fan base by the passionate typing of less than thirty people has deeper issues of inadequacy than they are willing to admit.

aight, good move for jr. I would want 2 goto the team that cheats the best as well.Don’t get hung up on that word cheat hendrik fans all teams do it they just do it better n don’t get caught.I’m curious 2 c what unfolds next year when da bad boy of nascar tries to do it with that camp the officials will definetly b watchin jr. w/ a microscope.I like jr. he’s passionate about what he does unlike his new teammates.Personally I would rather seen him in a Gibb’s car but talk about Gibb’s goin to Toyota is probably why ha made the decision he did.So from a die hard Gibb’s fan, kudos to jr. I know he will still race those other Hendrik guys n probably take there spotlight away at least I hope. But let’s get real 4 a min. as much as I can’t stand da guy the 24 is havin the season of his career.I just wonder when nascar will start to tear his car apart n see what’s really goin on.

I am in no way a JR fan I am not happy that he will be driving for the team I root for to win I like the Hendrick club and have since Tim Richmond came along. That being said it is very obvious that this is the move that just abouot insures his success. I still want to see Jeff Gordon win all he can and set as many records as he can before he retires. I think JR will be a good fit with Hendrick. But I wonder how long it will take for the fans to start screaming about a pecking order (which by the way we KNOW does not excist at Hendrick) The race dictates the outcome and the drivers and crews not managment. We’ll see how long it takes for Budweiser cans to start bouncing off of the new ride

Well said Know-it-All…glad to hear someone else understands where the Cup series is headed. Remember when drivers use to get out of their cars and settle the score, like Allison and Yarborough at the finish line. Sponsors were for men who drink, smoke, and spit. I heard Mary Kay is sponsoring a pink Cadillac, and Mike Skinner will drive it.

(79) Dave says:

It appears that Nascar is becoming what open-wheel racing was a few years ago. Remember when only a couple of CART teams had the ability to win on a consistent basis? The formation of the IRL eas supposed to correct the problem, but the IRL now has only a couple of teams capable of winning regularly. Now, both CHAMP Car and the IRL are suffering greatly from lack of fan support. If Nascar isn’t careful, they will suffer the same fate. If the fans go away, so will the major sponsers. As far as I can see, fan support is down because the fans are starting to believe that only one or two teams have the ability to win consistently anymore.

So, seriously, what do you think his number will be? 5,25? I think that he might revive an old number that Childress(I think) owns–anyone remember the number 15? Dale,Sr. drove it when he drove for Ford(yes Ford) It was the Wrangler jeans car, yellow and blue colors.–It would also be a tribute to a story about he and Hendricks when he was 15.(go to nascar.com to see story)

(87) Nancy says:

Good for Jr! I am a true Gordon fan and husband is rabid Jr fan and can’t wait until November to welcome Jr. I think it is a great move for him to join HMS or any other team, as long as it away from DEI (and Teresa). As for all the posts regarding “hope they wreck em, etc”. True race fans do not wish or want wrecks, they enjoy watching racing for the thrill of the chase. True race fans also are not one of the obnoxious race goers who prefer to throw a tantrum and cups, cans or whatever they can get their hands on at the races. Get a grip and grow up. GO HMS IN 2008 !!!!!!!!

June 14, 2007 at 12:56 pm
(88) 1969rs says:

jr fan from bama; I think the #15 is being used by Paul Menard currently.

Jr. was very open about wanting to keep the #8. Hope he does and keep Bud as sponsor so I do not have to spend another fortune to fill the closet.

It was interesting how Jr. approached the question about feeling pressure. He stated he did not feel pressure joining HMS. I think there will be increased pressure to perform. He will no longer be the big dog in the pen. Hopefully he will dial it up a notch and turn into the big dog in the HMS pen.

(91) Lesley says:

For all you people not happy with Jr’s decision joining Hendrick Motorsports and threatening to not be Jr fans anymore just proves you weren’t true fans of Jr to begin with. Listen I don’t like Gordon either, however you cannot deny that he is a great race car driver. Jr made the right decision. He needs to be with a team that can give him the best equipment possible. That is Hendrick. I hate that Jr won’t be driving for DEI. You can blame Theresa for that. If Dale Sr. were still here things would of turned out different. Jr may have never left DEI then. So because I am a true Earnhardt fan I will follow him wherever he goes.

I don’t like the fact that he will be team mates with Gordon and Johnson but I am happy to the fact that he nows has all of the best stuff to put him in victory lane but then on another note I really think that he should replace mears and not bush on that team

June 14, 2007 at 2:24 pm
(93) JR says:

Its kinda funny… The day Jr. drove busch’s car I told my wife he was going to drive for Hendrick Motorsports. The day is going to come when hotheaded young drivers run out of owners. Jr. is a class act who deserves the best equipment!

(99) Jr Fan In Texas says:

I just want to say I, like so many others comments am not all that happy with Jr going to HMS. Not that I hate Hendricks or HMS, I just hate 2 of his drivers (J.G & J.J). I also think it was a Good decision to let one of the Bush babies go, leave or quit whatever happened there. As for Tzeitel &nascarfan24_9, you 2 need to realize that when someone wants another driver to wreck they dont want them hurt they just don”t want them to finish. I think that is what a true racing fan always wants is their driver to win no mater what. Like brandonjames8 said wrecks are apart of racing and everyone gets excited when they see one. Especially when its their driver’s (whoever that driver is) biggest rival or the rival at the moment, especially if it puts their driver out front. In return they hate when its their driver who wrecks. I will always be a Jr fan and kinda like jason said I want to see Jr pass Gordon and Johnson. I have never liked gordon or johnson. For many reasons but I’ll be nice. Mainly because neither of them are great drivers they just have a great car owner and great and very smart crew chiefs who really know what they are doing and can make anyone good.I also hope that he gets to keep the Bud #8. I don’t want to have to buy new stuff. so GO JR GO, GO, GO!!!!!!

Ok, I lied…have to respond. Never cared for Sr’s driving style (they called him ‘bone-head’) for a reason but damn was he ever effective! Jr is not his father and never will be but he is one of the best shoes out ther today. Gordon no talent? When someone from NASCAR can jump into a Formula 1 car and in less than twenty laps be within one hundredth of a second of qualifying for a race well, you go figure that one out for yourself….if your simian brain can comprehend such a feat.

hey know it all and john, you 2 are I guess Gordon, Johnson or Kyle Bush fans. Good for you. But first know it all NO YOU CAN’T NOT EVEN IN YOUR WET DREAMS. And John whats moronic, think about it. When Gordon gave up Chad Knaus to Johnson, Gordon didn’t do very well. Matter of fact he didn’t even make the chase 2 years ago.I don’t think he did real well when Ray Everham left (I admit I may be wrong there). Before you get upset I know Jr. didn’t make the chase either. But to each his own opinion, thats what makes racing so great. Everyone has their own opinions about the drivers they like and dislike.

No personal attacks
Have a point

Also by the way,how many of you have I already heard say “man its so good to see Jr somewhere where they can give him good equipment” get for real! Why dont you explain to me how the equipment at HMS is any better then the equipment at any of the other racing teams?FYI…its NOT! Its the same crap! Nascar sees to it! Level playing field remember? All the cars are equal you numbskulls! The cars themselves are cheap compared to the price of fielding a team, and its up to the teams ,driver included to do what they can with what they have ,and they all have the best race’n crap $ can buy! The sooner your feeble minds realize nascar and its multi car teams they cater too are all about the $$ and nothing more the better off you’ll be.

FURTHERMORE WHY DONT YOU EXPLAIN TO THE GOOD FOLKS WHAT A 7 POST RIG IS? WHILE YOUR AT IT BE SURE TO MENTION THAT ITS NOTHIN MORE THEN A PIECE OF EQUIPMENT USED FOR STUDYING THE EFFECTS OF DIFF SUSPENSION LAYOUTS ON THE VERTICAL DYNAMICS OF THE CARS AND FOR IMPROVING EXISTING SETUPS.IT CONSISTS OF 7 PISTONS ABLE TO REPRODUCE THE VERTICLE DISPLACEMENTS WHICH A TRACK INTRODUCES ON A RACE CAR,USING DOWNFORCE PLUS LATERAL AND LONGITUDINAL WEIGHT TRANSFERS TO OBTAIN THE TARGETS. JUST ANOTHER PIECE OF EQUIP USED TO GIVE THE TEAMS FEEDBACK.AGAIN AS I SAID BEFORE ITS UP TO THEM WHAT THEY DO WITH IT.IF A TEAM IN NASCAR DONT HAVE A 7 POST RIG THEN THEY RENT ONE “THE WHOLE FRIGGIN GARAGE ONE TOO!” OR THEIR BUDDY LETS EM USE HIS!

The biggest problem I see here is that half or better of you numnutz cant except the truth! Truth is Jr.is nothing more then nascars version of Axel Rose! A mere crybaby and a spoiled brat who gets mad n says “well if you wont play my way I just wont play!”! The only reason Jr. left DEI was to spite his step mommy, and the only reason he signed with HMS is to spite RCR over the involvment with DEI in the engine dept.Jr.wants things all his way and thats the bottom line.Of course most all of Jrs fans wanted so much to see him driving for RCR like his Daddy. But then again Jrs no better then nascar itself hes only in it to benifit him and what his fans think isnt important to him.Hes Dale Earnhardt Jr.,it dont matter to him what anyone thinks.Hell for that matter he could quit racing and become a couch potato and he’d still have more money and fame then he ever earned or deserved. Know it all, here is a thought, maybe no one has answered your comments because of your childish ways. You come on here and call others childish names, rant, and rave over what? Then you cry when no one acknowledges you, just like a spoiled child. I would imagine most on here are ignoring you as if they would ignore a spoiled child, let them rant a rave and make a fool of themselves. Me, I like to mess with a spoiled child, the more you mess with them the more they make a fool of themselves.

What are you trying to prove with your comments? You said no one could except the truth, what makes it the truth, because you have said it? I see you never have answered that question on when being asked. Can you prove of what you had said? Just because you think, it is the truth does not mean it is the truth. The only truth here is your childish comments are your Opinion, and that is all they are. So use your own advise, grow up as an a adult, and stop your rant and raving, because no one shares your opinions and if some one does they won’t say it because of your ways. You said you been around over 50 years with the sport, that make you around 65+? Maybe you are going through the second childhood some people do that of what I have read.

I can tell you this much I have two members of a busch series team sitting right here with me at this very moment laughing thier arses off because you morons will stop at nothing to argue what you only can voice opinions on but get upset at the ones who actually do know what thier talking about. So until you KNOW what your talking about dont even address me with your asinine comments!

Wow, how ironic, I’m sitting here with a few sponsors of NASCAR right now laughing our asses off! Actually just me laughing as the Budweiser and the Jack Daniels are sitting quietly in their respective glasses, but they are sponsors damn it! Hell the Jack is even mingling with Coke right now, so I have three sponsors with me right now!

Except for me, Like I said I enjoy watch a spoiled child making a fool of themselves, even more when they don’t even know it. We all are laughing at you.

Ok Steve, with respect to you and your forum I’ll apologise for stirring the pot.But I will not apologise for speaking the truth.I’m sorry if I have got under any ones skin but rest assured deep down I also know for a fact that many ,many ,many of you know I am speaking the truth.I dont hate nascar just to have something to do,I just dont like them because they cheat us,you n me the fans and supporters of the sport.Thier system is a fluke! The point system, the penalties, both are a joke. What kind of sport takes away points earned by the players on the field for something someone else done off the field? Points earned on the track should NOT be taken from them for the crews mistakes.I would just like to know if any of you out there agree that the point system is a fluke? We already know that the 1st year of the new chase format that if they had left it alone and kept the old point system Gordon would have been crowned champ and not Busch.Personaly I think nascar owes it to the fans to at least give them a true champion.Ive studied this a lot and Ive come to the conclusion that there is only one way to accomplish this task.First of all “with a lot of details to sort out” I personally think that the nascar field should be predetermined before the season opener in Daytona. Once this predetermined field is set its buisiness as usual for the next 36 weeks or so. Qualifying and practice sessions remain as they are now, only diff is there can only be 43 points available on any given weekend, with 43 going to the winner and 1 going to the 43rd place finisher. It should be these points that determine the champion at the end of the season.Bonus points should be calculated in a format aside from the 43 points used each week to determine the championship winner. Now this folks is “just my opinion” I also think nascar owes the fans Rockingham, and the Southern 500 on Labor Day back at Darlington! After all these are our grass roots tracks,Its where many of us grew up and personaly I feel robbed by nascar for taking these venues away from us,and when ya know they looked away from the fans and towards only the dollar signs it makes it even worse. As far as drivers go I dont dislike none of them really,I know most of them and for the most part are all good people,I also could care less who any of them drive for.Earnhardt fans every where right now are just numb because Gordon and Earnhardt on the same team just dont seem right to them. But they’ll adjust to it just fine.I dont think it will change many of thier minds about thier thoughts on the subject though. However I wish every driver, crew member, you the fans and anyone else at the track on any given weekend the best of luck and a safe and happy raceday.Ya know if more of us was as outspoken and made our voices heard who knows maybe nascar would come around and realize which side thier bread is buttered on. After all I know also for a FACT that none of you no matter who you root for wants to see someone with the championship trophy that hasnt earned it fair and square!I will be happy for any one hoisting up that trophy if I know they earned it!I just want to see nascar do the right thing and play fair, thats all,and until they do I will continue to only support them merely by catching thier action here and there on the tube.Ill continue to spend my Sundays on the lake or on my Harley and not at the tracks where 6 bucks a beer should be illegal!

Jr.is being his own person and as he should be. Sr. wouldn’t be happy with the way Theresa is acting nor with the way she’s running things!! She’s being a selfish witch, and someday karma will pay her back I’m sure. Sr. didn’t build DEI for her, he built that company for his children, and that’s who should have control of it. Theresa,Confusious says “a girl’s best asset is her “lie”ability,” and “he who fishes in another man’s well often catches crab.”

(151) Jr Fan In Texas says:

Now I understand & agree somewhat with know it all after his last long comment. I agree the points system and the chase sucks. Look at last year, Tony Stewart out did everybody in the chase during the last 10 races. If it was like it used to be Stewart would have been the champ not Johnson.

June 16, 2007 at 4:40 pm
(152) ha says:

No one can or wants too understand “know it less” because of his childish idiot ways. But jr fan in Texas, the chase is crap- yes. Remember one of the reasons why they went to the chase crap? Remember the big outcry of the fans when Matt kennesth won the championship when he hardly won any races? He won it because of being consistant on his finishes. So they went to the chase. In theory lot of us don’t like the chase, they are more fans that do like it.

Now this guy tried to change his name. I also said it does get old. So I will let the spoiled child acting adult? that is not smart enough to know that he HAVE done everything I said he would in his comments.

People like him are easy to figure out what they will do next, you just have to watch a kid to figure it out.

It’s been fun know it all However, I am still waiting for the answers to the questions I have asked you, Then again you always can figure out a blow hard when you start asking questions and they avoid answering them and twist things around. See ya

Dale Jr Fans wont be leaving Dale just because he signed a deal with Hendricks. If you’re a true Dale Jr Fan you will be supportive like I am.

Dale Jr can still compete with Johnson and Gordon. Maybe having new racing team is the ticket to giving Dale Jr life as a NASCAR driver. New ideas, new resources, new sponsors and maybe welcoming some newer fans. How is a NASCAR driver to go wrong?
