2007 Pocono 500 Preview

Thursday June 7, 2007
2007 Pocono 500 at Pocono RacewayThis weekend the NASCAR family will come together to mourn the loss of Bill France Jr. Bill was the guiding force behind NASCAR for thirty years and he will be in everyone's thoughts this weekend as the 2007 Pocono 500 goes on.

Last year Denny Hamlin dominated the tricky 2.5 mile triangle. Hamlin won both 2006 Pocono races from the pole for his Joe Gibbs Racing team. Can he produce another dominant season at Pocono Raceway?

Hamlin has been close many times but always throws it away either on the track, or in the pits. He has admitted that.
Hopefully, this will be the race where he turns that around.

(2) Ted-N-Tampa says:

Of course Denny can duplicate last years Pocono performance. I expect him to because he does his best on flat tracks with dissimilar turns. Watch out for him on the upcoming road courses also.

(3) BIG BOB SR says:

If Denny wins I guess that will mean Nascar is going to quit cheating for Hendricks and start cheating for Joe Gibbs Racing.Joe must have paid a bigger bribe. What do all you anti-Hendricks so called race fans think?

(4) ????? says:

Hey big bob what is a real race fan? Anybody that agrees with you? Are you really trying to say a real race fan can’t have stupid ideas? If that is the case then there not a one of us is a fan. I often read on here IF you are really a true fan then…..! What is one?

(5) 1969rs says:

Wow, made it to three posts before the conspiracy theory came up.

I will not justify that with a comment.

Anyone pay the $25 to see the nascar boys sling dirt last night? Did Juan try to go three wide at the green flag?

June 7, 2007 at 8:56 pm
(6) mkb says:

Juan is a ringer (no matter how talened) who na$car is pushing. The ole days of na$car are limited. I’m leaving soon as are many others. Too much Juan and Hendrick.

June 7, 2007 at 9:03 pm
(7) mkb says:

PS: How come no info on the Busch thing? Na$car putting it under the table..don’t want to look bad in the everyday press?????? Seems to me that both Busch and Steward were at fault, (probably just a racing thing so let it go) but, of course, Bush can’t be excused for his display on pit road. Na$car can’t punish Steward for his overagression on track as he is alread on probation…can’t put him out…too popular (and I like him, but fairness is fairness…look at Jr’s 100 point deduction.

(8) mkb says:

PS: And I’m not a big Jr. fan!

June 7, 2007 at 9:08 pm
(9) Eric says:

No I didn’t even remember they were going to the dirt last night. Mabye Steve should have given us a race run down on that today. At least nobody could have said nascar influenced that race. Wait now I have put the idea in their heads,SORRY

(10) bubba jr says:

mkb do you know what you are talking about? If you do please let us know so we can share in the emptyness comment along with you. juan? hendrick? what about them? Oh, your favorite driver must be one of the teams that have not gotten their act together, so everyone else must be cheating, right?

June 8, 2007 at 7:51 am
(11) Tony says:

Lets see Hendricks teams are winning so they are cheating. When a few years ago when Rouch teams where winning they were cheating. After Dale Sr. die and Jr won a race Jr was cheating. So to some people Nascar lets one group of owners cheat for awhile and than Nascar says ok that is enough it is someone else turn. Has it cross someone brain that “Oh this owner has their act together and is just having a run of good luck.” Oh no Nascar is letting them cheat. Come on people I maybe the one who has their eyes close, but I don’t think Nascar is being paid off to let one owner win everything.

you’re new photo is great but my heart will always long for the mustach

June 8, 2007 at 10:03 am
(13) ha says:

tony didn’t you know nascar takes the highest bidder on which team they let cheat? That’s why rousch team having money problems, nascar drained them? ha Some of these people don’t have the concept that some teams have their act together.

June 8, 2007 at 11:51 am
(14) Neil Halloran says:

I just wanted to say goodby to Bill France Jr. He did a great with job NASCAR. I hope it all continues as it is.

June 8, 2007 at 12:36 pm
(15) Tony says:

Ha, and you are in the boardroom when these pay offs happen. I don’t think so.
And if you are how much money did each owner pay Nascar to let them cheat!

June 8, 2007 at 1:08 pm
(16) ha says:

Tony, I guess my comment went way over your head. you believe everything that you read. I understood yours and that’s why I was clowning around with mine, hey I have a bridge for sale, you want to buy it? ha

June 8, 2007 at 2:07 pm
(17) Tony says:

Ha, I guess it was my comment that went way over your head! What I said was when one owner’s teams are winning a lot to most fans that owner is cheating and my comment was I don’t think it’s cheating I think it’s just a run of good luck. And for your “bridge” you have for sale, jump off of it!!!!!!!!

June 8, 2007 at 3:17 pm
(18) ha says:

Tony, WHEW still went over your head Uh?

June 8, 2007 at 4:33 pm
(19) Tony says:

Ha I was not the one who started this and I’m not the one who started the name calling IT WAS YOU!!!!!!!!!!
I will say this to you Ha I did go back and reread your first post and you can take it as a joke or you take it serious, so I’m not to big of a person to say that I was wrong when I’m wrong, I took it like you really believe that owners did pay off Nascar and that I was a fool not to think other wises.

June 8, 2007 at 4:43 pm
(20) ha says:

Tony, name-calling? I do not think I did any name-calling and if I did I apologies’ for it. It is called sarcastic remarks. Like others on here I am just tired of the conspiracy goes a long on here about teams/drivers. That’s ok have a good day

June 8, 2007 at 5:05 pm
(21) Tony says:

Ha you have a good day too.

(22) MKB says:

Bubba,

Emptyness?????????

June 9, 2007 at 11:38 am
(23) thekingcobra63 says:

Well, as sickening as it is, I don’t think the Hendrick dominance is due to a conspiracy. Maybe Nemechek will win at Pocono and put it all to rest! I vote no to conspiracies and NO to the COT! And lets stop the name calling, what is this, jr high all over again!

June 9, 2007 at 2:37 pm
(24) Trackrat says:

Anyone who thinks Nascars being bought off by certain teams is just trying to make excuses for their driver’s poor performance this year.. and probably believes Al Gore really won Florida..LoL

June 9, 2007 at 8:18 pm
(25) bubba jr says:

mkb yes emptyness with your comments I figured you would know, if you know what I mean, guess not.
