2007 Roush Racing Lineup

Monday January 1, 2007
With five cars in the field every week, Roush Racing is the largest team in NEXTEL Cup. The team has undergone a few changes in recent years as some veterans have left and new faces have taken their place. Here is the 2007 NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Roush Racing stable of drivers.

(9) TLabonte Fan says:

Great! I love it when NASCAR makes a new rule and then has it not apply to certain people. That is just plain ridiculous. But it’s happening so my whining isnt going to change anything. But, lets grandfather ALL of the new rule changes in. All drivers in Winston prior to Nextel can go back to Winston rules as they should be grandfathered in. Also, they wont have to freeze in the field on cautions. They can race back to the line as hard or as gentlemanly as they wish. All post rule change drivers will have to freeze and line up behind pace car while the other 20 or so cars race like hell to the line.

Also, pre-chase drivers can go back to regular scoring rules. We can have 2 banquets and crown 2 winners. Or each could crash the others ball and have an onstage fistfight. That might actually add some excitement to my favorite sport that is doing everything in its power to “KILL ITS ORIGINAL FAN BASE!”

See how absolutely ridiculous it is to make a rule change and then not apply it to everyone? Jack Rousch has some really incriminating pic’s of somebody pretty high up locked away in a safe deposit box somewhere.

Do like David Pierson, said. Use factory bodies, give’em 2 inch spoiler and 9 inch tires, then we’ll see who can drive.. They set cars up now that just about drive themselves. Put in a computer and they will..

(17) mark martin fan in Pa says:

I have been watching nascar along with other motorsports since i was like 9 or 10, it was called grand national then, i live 40 mins from pocono. and i have to comment on linda reeds comment on jan. 7th
i grew up liking and rooting for the the king, as a kid i liked the colors of his car, and when he retired i moved on to mark martin for more reasons than the colors of his car.
i have to agree with linda about the 6 car, mark martin will always be the 6 car just as dale earnhardt will always be the 3 car and rusty the 2 car and i could go on……
i feel the #6 should be retired, as well as the #3 and #2
the 6 car cant run on mark’s reputation and ability, give the new driver his own new # and idenity. if he can race the sponsers will be there.
good luck to u mark this season and have some fun

just a race fan

(20) Mark Martin fan from CT. says:

I agree that they should retire the #3, #2, #6 because the first thing u think of when u see the #3 is Dale Earnhardt. The #2, Rusty Wallace, and #6 is Mark Martin. Nobody will be able to repace those legend drivers.

(25) JimK says:

People are hard of Jack for giving David Ragan a ride because he hasn’t proved himself yet. Does anyone remeber a few years ago asking the question, “Who the heck is Carl Edwards”. If there is anyone in racing who can bring new drivers in and get immediate results it is the Roush Stable. I am a fan of Dale Jr. and I envy the racing system the Roush has created. If DEI had a system like Roush I would be a happy fan. Jack Roush is a winner and will continue to win in any investment he decides to pursue. If people are giving up on Jack because they feel Mark Martin was treated unfairly they are nuts. If you look at Mark Martin’s behaviour last year it is easy to see that he has lost his “killer instinct”(IN NEXTEL CUP ANYWAYS)
Some youth in the stable will be good for the team. They have Matt Kenseth to fill the role as the veteran now. My prediction is that Ragan competes for the 10th place postion with the usual suspects of Elliot Sadler and Jamie McMurray when the “Chase” is formed.

(27) Curt Melton says:

The # 6 should be retired. Only Mark Martin is the 6 car & no matter who is in the car, I will always feel like I’m watching Mark Martin. Am very willing to talk to anyone that wants to get rid of Mark Martin collectibles.
